Like every other review has said, you have to sand the upper handguard to make it sit flush and lock in. If you don't have a belt sander, just sand slowly. The lower handguard fits pretty easily and follows the ancient YouTube video. The material feels firm enough, but won't protect you from the heat. There is a small piece of a heat shield on the lower handguard, but only the lower.

I got the ZPAP with flamed maple. The bottom grip looks great, but the top had no flame and looks really cheap. I replaced the top guard with the picatinny rail for mounting an optic. I left the wood bottom on mainly because I couldn't get it off, but even though the vent holes don't line up (2 vs 3), I like the hybrid look and functionality. The top guard is very secure and required no modification.

I purchased this item for a Yugoslavian AK under folder says you may need to trim to fit this product is approximately 3/4 of an inch too long if you know anything about a case then you know that you've got to have the little curve tab on the the front therefore you have to trim off the back end which goes into the hole rectangle hole in the front trunion you have to take off 3/4 of an inch for it to fit you can't do that there's not enough material to fit in that hole if you cut off three quarters of an inch there's a metal plate in the bottom of this that you can't cut through there's no way it fits a Yugo under folder there's no way it could ever fit a Yugo under folder there's no way this product was made for you though under folder when I researched it I looked it up I gave every bit of information about my M70 ab2 which according to the description of this product it's supposed to fit it does not there's no way to make it fit so it is a giant waste of money to purchase this product

Bought this for my Zastava Zpap, the bottom fit perfectly, dropped right on. The gas tube cover, or top was relatively loose, had to shim it with O rings and now it’s real snug. Looks great and feels great. Can’t complain for what it cost compared to other manufactures of Yugo parts.

This was an excellent fit on a Yugoslav AK with no modifications. It is very snug fit so I expect the rail to hold zero without any issues. The parts list in the package shows a metal re-enforcement piece for the lower hand guard that was not in the package. It seems to fit just fine without it so the only question would be durability over the long term.

Product shipped relatively quickly considering today's world. Not easy to install, definitely not plug and play. Follow the directions and you should be good. I did have to sand down quite a bit of material off the lower hand guard and upper section. Fit and finish isn't perfect but it works. I bought it to replace the wood furniture on my YUGO NPAP AK47. The midwest industry handguard i want is still out of stock and costs 4x as much, so I chose this product. There are YouTube videos showing how to install also.

I’ve been sanding for two days trying to get this thing to fit right. The polymer is high quality and looks great, but I just can’t get both pieces on at the same time to save my life. The gas tube won’t sit right with both pieces. I can get the forend on, but then the gas tube won’t lock into place right. For the upper part on the gas tube, for some reason it won’t fit unless I put that little leaf spring thing in there (from original, not included). Right now I have my original wood on bottom with the polymer on the gas tube, which is OK because I really only needed to replace that top part. My real complaint is that with the forend (lower hand guard) installed I can’t get my cleaning rod back in. The cleaning rod isn’t a huge deal but it’s just not a classic AK profile without it! Overall, I will keep working on it and am just disappointed that I’ve spent the better part of 6-7 hours sanding/testing, and I have probably come close to breaking/bending parts of my gun by trying to force it.

The product looks like good quality, but it DOES NOT FIT the Zastava M92 pistol. This is apparently for the standard Yugo PAP AK, not the pistol. It's about 2/3-inch too long for the pistol.

I thought about trimming it, but then the metal heat guard would no longer work unless I also trimmed it and got it to fit.
