Best barrel choice.
Got this for my first AR-10 build and I couldn’t be happier, not only did it save weight while retaining amazing accuracy I’ve had no issues with stringing and found a factory load that will shoot 1/2 moa off the bench and as a plus it’s looks absolutely awesome. I will say while it is lighter than a similar profile all steel barrel it’s still got a little weight to it but not horrible for a 20 inch heavy profile barrel.

Great Barrel on my AR-10 Rifle.looks amazing with desert camo. Speedy shipping. Great customer service. It reduced a lot of recoil and gained accuracy. Looking forward to more proof Barrels.

Work of art
The craftsmanship of these barrels are pristine. Yes they are costly but considering the barrel life is 2-3 times longer than a stainless steel and 65% lighter your really saving money in the end . There's a reason why multiple winning competition shooters use Proof Research barrels,handle/ shoot one and you'll know why.

Barrel of Beauty
Proof research carbon wrapped barrels are works of art. Going from an 18” stainless barrel to a 20” carbon wrapped didn’t net a big difference in weight savings but it is noticeable. Highly recommended and will be purchasing for my next build.

Proof Research .308
The Proof Research .308 carbon fiber 20” barrel is a thing of beauty. It’s of the highest quality and built to precision specifications. My purchase was smooth and customer service was excellent. This is not my first time doing business with OpticsPlanet and certainly not the last.

Maaaaaan! What a great decision!
Bought the 20" barrel and finally ran some rounds through it today and MAAAAANNNN, what a difference! Put it on a AR-10 build I did a few years ago. I was just not pleased with performance of the stock 16" mid length gas barrel I had on the build and what it was doing at even 100 yards. I wanted this build to be a 500 yard gun. Was going to go bolt gun but decided to give this a try instead. I went from 2 MOA to 1/2 MOA's at 100 yards. Will stretch it out to 300 yards next time and see what we have. If pleased, will take it on out to 500..which is somewhat new to me for distance but always wanted a good platform for that range. Had a gun smith do the upper rebuild and he head spaced the barrel. I added a Lantec Dragon brake that takes a Omega suppressor just because they were on sale and I love me some Lantec brakes anyway.
These Proof Research barrels are amazing. Expensive....but hey, what isn't these days. Plus, the "keeping the barrel cool" CF wrap did the trick too. Buy this!

.308 proof research carbon barrel
Awesome barrel honestly the best barrel I ever shoot. Made my ar-10 amazingly light and accurate. Everything about the barrel information was correct. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality barrel. Buying another in couple of days
