Use this scope for pest control efforts across 30,000 acres. Great image and reliability. The Picture in Picture is very nice. This unit has helped us kill hundreds of hogs and is what we trust to watch our fields.
Pros:
- Good image
- Rechargeable bateries
- Great price and reliability
- onboard recording
Best Used for:
- hunting
- shooting
- Hog Hunting
- Deer Hunting
- Predator hunting
- scouting

The XQ38 exceeded my expectations. I hate complex electronic gear that is difficult to use. I was able to operate and zero in in one hour with two shots. This includes charging the battery to full capacity, and reading the quick start. First thermal sight I’ve owned. 2nd shot for verification only. Buy the QD mount. Returns to zero every time so far. The manual is very well written and easy to understand. Have removed 4 hogs with 4 shots in total darkness at 25-100 yards with 223 head shots. PIP is awesome. It seems to be a rugged unit. Time will tell. The hogs hate it.
Pros:
- Easy mount / removal
- easy menu
Cons:
- on and off switch needs getting used to

Received the Pulsar Trail XQ38 and it was everything I had researched it to be. Awesome scope. Very pleased with the performance of this scope. It has a lot of great features and I could not be happier.

Incredible scope. I already have a pulsar apex and bought a Flir because it was cheaper. Compared to the pulsar, it was a waste of $2,100 so I returned it and replaced with the trail. The video capability is incredible and the blue tooth to your phone makes it possible for a second person to participate. Expensive but well worth it. Don’t waste your money on a cheap scope.
Pros:
- Ease of use and high resolution

I looked very seriously at thermals for about 3 months, and could never decide which one to get. I almost got an ATN multiple times, but couldn’t pull the trigger. I ended up going with this Pulsar, and I don’t regret it one bit! This thing is awesome! Great quality, video, WiFi, you can put it on multiple guns and save the settings. 100% wont go with anything but pulsar ever again.

Great investment, never seen anything like it before! This is a really nice thermal, easy to operate figured it out the first time i turned it on! realized what you really can't see without it while predator hunting. The PIP magnification is amazing. The remote is simply a great idea no over the top hitting buttons. Again great scope
Pros:
- everything about scope is a pro
Best Used for:
- anything in complete darkness

I have used almost all of the trail series thermal scopes and this one is the best bang for your buck in my opinion. Mainly use to hog hunt in a range of terrain from open fields to tight wooded areas. This scope can handle both situations well. The streamvision app is a great tool to share what's going on with friends and helps when you can get a second opinion on what it is your looking at out there in the dark. I bought a cheap 10" tablet and the app streams flawlessly as long as you don't get out of range.

Over all great product, It has never failed me in any way (over 6 months of use every weekend). Its been on a 338 Federal, 308 win (both bolt and both AR Platform). Great image quality and great range (can see rabbit sized game at over 300 yards in the dead of night.
Would I change anything about this puchase, YES. I should have bought one sooner.
Pros:
- Durable (good luck breaking it)

I was on the fence between the XQ or the XP model of this scope. At my work, we have the XP50 Helion monoculars. Their resolution is amazing. I was trying to stay within a budget but was worried that I would be disappointed with the lower resolution XQ model. I talked to a professional guide who does thermal pig hunts and sells thermal scopes for a living. He recommended the XQ, saying that money vs. quality, it was a no brainer. Unless you are rich and just want to one-up your buddy, there isn't enough noticeable difference between the XQ and XP to justify paying another 2K.
After getting the scope and using it, I completely agree. The resolution and sensitivity are great. I am 100% satisfied.
Pros:
- Great image quality
- 3 rifle profiles
- 10 zeros per profile
- Can use on multiple guns / round combinations
- wifi, digital features
Cons:
- Should come stock with QD mount
