Hallo.. I am from central Namibia... I have used this scope on a Savage Axis .223 to cull antelope..
I load Sierra Gameking 65gr and used this combination for headshots limiting the distance to not more than 200m..
This scope performs brilliantly... the turret is spot-on out to 300m... as tested on the range... (I've managed to achieve with the 65gr bullets the same ballistics as with the 55g projectiles WITHOUT ANY SIGNS OF OVER PRESSURES in my rig...
Why is it discontinued?? Why?? for the price paid this is sterling quality !!
But very annoying the following.. YOU HAVE TO CONSTANTLY WATCH THE TURRETS... THE SLIGHTEST CONTACT WITH WHATEVER HITS THEM.. THEY TURN AND SET YOU OFF TARGET.. SOME SORT OF LOCKING MECHANISM WOULD ELEVATE THIS SCOPE TO A FAR HIGHER STANDARD OF RELIABILITY THAT IT ALL READY HAS
Pros:
- Clarity
- Size and weight are perfect for hunting
Best Used for:
- HUNTING, CULLING AND TARGET SHOOTING

One of the best scopes on the market. THE BEST SCOPE on the market under 500 $ and would put up against most that are over 500 $. Magnification, clarity, endurance, this scope has the three things you look for in a nice scope. Why do you think we used them in the U.S.M.C. ?

Took my new 6 x 18 out to the range yesterday... I am impressed.... what's even better is that even my "old school" father (71) was even impressed..... 41 years I've been waiting to hear "Atta Boy"!! He even is considering getting one himself now....
I was able to use the elevation turret to adjust when moving from 100 to 200 and 300 (although it's not exact for my load, it still puts me on a ground squirrel target. I used the 1 MOA hash marks inside the scope for wind compensation and was still hitting my mark!! I can't wait to go see if I can increase my hit ratio at 300 +....
Anyone looking for a quality, TAC style scope without the big price tag, LOOK NO FURTHER!! You won't be sorry!!
I was considering buying the Burris Predator Quest for about the same $... The Redfield is hands down the better option IMHO!!
Best Used for:
- Varmint, long distance target

I purchased this to sit on my Gen II DPMS 308 bull. Great scope, holds zero very well and I like the BDC turret and Tac MOA reticle. The image is very clear, even on 16X. The adjustable parallax on the scope bell world great too! Red field has the best warranty in the industry, so buy with confidence.

Mounted this scope on a Savage model 12 FCV .223. Did a quick 50yd. sight in than on to 100 yard range. After around 5 to 10 rounds this combo was hitting in the 1 inch center with over laps. I have some problems with the rifle as it was new and has been sent back for repairs. But the scope was out standing in both adjustment and the sight picture was far better than I expected. Not one thing I can say negative about this scope. Now I don't claim to be a world class sniper, just love to shoot with as much accuracy as I can. This scope brought be up to a new level with my shooting. Nice very nice.

This scope holds zero well. My rifle slid out of my safe and landed hard on concrete. No change whatsoever in zero. It's also clear up to full power and Redfield's warranty is the best in the business. You can't do better for the price.

The Redfield Battlezone scopes, both 3x9 and 6x18, are constructed well and have very good glass. The 2nd. focal plane TAC Reticle, or any reticle, can be an advantage if used properly. The only other scope I could compare this to would be the Vortec Crossfire II and the Redfield has a reticle that seems a little more crisp. I doubt if you would gain much by spending more money for any other 6x18, or higher power, general hunting scope.

I was very nervous about a $300 scope but I am impressed. I gave it 5 stars because for the dollar you get minute of angle reticule in this 6-18 and yet a very clear scope. I am happy for $300 it is no $1800 scope but I can put several of these on ARs and bolt gun for the money.
