Best magizine for this rifle. Don’t get the polymer or other brands, this is the one that works best for the 597. And as usual, Optics Planet has the cheapest price and fastest shipping. Will be ordering more.

I just purchased a new Remington 597 semi-automatic rifle chambered in .22 WMR. Remington only supplies one magazine with the rifle so I wanted to get a spare. As I have often found with many products, Optics Planet had the best price on this Remington magazine so I placed my order with them for it. Shipping was quick and I had the magazine within the week. The magazine I received was in the sealed Remington factory packaging in pristine condition. It was exactly as represented and what I expected. After removing the magazine from the package, I found it to be in perfect condition, well-made and well-marked with the caliber. The magazine capacity is 8 rounds and is designed for both .22WMR and .17HMR. The body is made of die-cast zinc metal with a black plastic removable bottom and a bright fluorescent orange magazine follower for safety. The magazine is easily and quickly disassembled for cleaning and reassembly is equally as quick and easy. I found the functioning of the magazine to be smooth, locked into place properly, properly operates the bolt stop and released from the rifle properly. I was also very pleased to see on the packaging that the magazine is made in he United States by American workers. My only beef with this product is with the packaging. The magazine comes in a nice plastic blister pack with a good informational package card. However, the blister pack is not the type that you can pull apart and snap shut again.
