This is a good trigger breaks like glass no creep no travel. I set it at 2.5 lbs which is the heaviest you can set it. Make sure safety is off before setting the safety set screw and you should be good to go. As far as optics planet goes they are a good company to deal with they had the best price on the internet and free shipping I will buy from them again

I removed a Timney trigger from my old Ruger 77 Mark 2 .280 and replaced it with the Rifle basics. I had the Timney in that rifle for many years but messed up the safety engagement tab when I installed it by taking too much metal off and had to build the surface back up to make it work. The Rifle basics uses an adjustable offset screw for the safety engagement which is a better design in my opinion The new trigger adjusted to a crisp 2lbs and was easy to install.
Pros:
easy installation
Cons:
None

I very easily reduced my ruger trigger from 6 pounds to 2 pounds in about 15 minutes. Couldn't have been easier. No creep, just smooth. Easy to adjust the poundage. Very satisfied.

Easy install, good quality kit. Plenty light trigger pull. Still a little creap maybe the same as factory but hard to feel because of trigger pull weight.

I have a Ruger 77 Hawkeye Compact. I have tried and tried on three occasions to get this trigger to work properly. on the first try It worked, the trigger was a huge improvement from the factory trigger. ONE ISSUE, when I set the three position safety to the middle position to open the bolt and unload the firearm the firing pin would sometimes fall or partially fall. I tried a couple times on various occasions but nothing seemed to work. Also the trigger weight screw is almost cranked in for the sear to engage without releasing the firing pin, so there is not much room for adjustment. I called Rifle Basics yesterday (12/9/2023) and spoke to someone and they were essentially nonchalant about what I had to do, it seem straight forward, so I tried again following their and the instructions supplied and I have to admit I'm not getting anywhere and because I am now out of the 30 day window for returning this trigger and am going to have to eat the $91 I have sunk into this project. In reading Optic Planet's return policy, I am unsure they would have accepted it back anyway "The item must be returned in NEW condition (not used, worn, broken, mounted, etc.)"
Pros:
light weight trigger pull
Cons:
difficult to adjust
Safety Actuation Problem
Marginal adjustability
Unreturnable
Best Used for:
No one
