Gordon's Review of OpticsPlanet Exclusive RISE Armament RA-240 Enhanced Rifle Trigger

I bought one of these for an AR10 build using all Aero parts. I is very light and reasonably crisp. But I found a dangerous defect and will explain why : I first put this trigger in an all Aero Ar-10 .308 build I did in 2019, bought from Optic Planet. I had a great feel and allthough a pain in the neck to fit exactly as instructions advised, it fit. On my first outing with the build one time I was seated at the bench ready to fire first shot down range the gun fired when I flipped off safety ! I determined after testing and cleaning my shorts, that if you squeezed trigger with safety on , some times it will discharge when safety was push to off. I took the build completely apart many times trying to rectify this and shimmed and adjust it many time. I pulled it out and put in a La Rue trigger and never looked back on the AR10 .308. This year I built an complete Aero AR10 in 6.5 Creedmore with a heavy long barrel and remembered the Rise trigger that never worked in the other one and decided to give it a try as it was a range gun and the trigger IS very lighht. I fitted it perfectly using new screws and it di the same thing. I studied the trigger on the bench and saw it had the trigger reset screw installed with a snapped off head so it could not be adjusted , I determined that setting was the problem ! I managed to remove that snapped of by factory anti tamper adjustment and by screwing it in, making the pull a little heavierer and increasing the reset weight it would function normally. !!! Problem soved wit a 4 pound trigger rather than a 3 pound one ! I called factory when I first had problems with the trigger in 2019 and they said they would NOT warranty it as they had a 30 day returand it was 5 months since I bought it !!! I went on line and found bad reviews for the trigger with same dangerous problem ! I should have contactacted Optics Planet earlier , probably they MIGHT have refunded me. But I studied the engineering of it and finally corrected it and it works OK, but not as light as originally manufactured.
This is a warning to future users and would like to see the manufacturer's response. The problem is the tamper proof snapped off screw being imprperly set. The whole design tho is not as reliable as others however IMHO.
