Most Helpful Negative Review Fits Glock 43x MOS no modifications needed
Fits Glock 43x MOS no modifications needed...even the screws are the right size....both are RMSc so no surprises there. Factory sights cowitness too. Only problem, the red dot was off center to the left. These are non adjustable & factory zeroed so it must be a defect and I will be returning for an exchange.

Red Dot cost

by Superwrench, Verified Owner from VA, United States Written on February 11, 2025
This dot fits the Max 9 perfectly. Looks great and I still able to was my holster. Works great in bright light. As you can imagine it is very dim in low light. It's on my go to church firearm so it is for use in a well lit room. Ruger did a great job.
Pros:
  • Cost and fit
Cons:
  • None

Great idea, but way off on my max 9

by Anonymous, from PA, United States Written on February 3, 2025
junk. worth $50 at the absolute maximum to be used only on self defense weapons and if you REALLY have trouble with iron sights. otherwise iron sights just work better all the time.

this was made specifically for the max 9, which I have, so i figured i'd give it a shot. The dot was totally off from my iron sights which I know are true, which makes this dot basically unusable.

It's a real shame because i really like the idea of a fiber optic red dot. I think with a little bit more engineering to figure out how to include adjustments to the position of the end of the fiber optic strand, this would be such a sweet product.
Pros:
  • fiber optics are cool
Cons:
  • not zeroed
Best Used for:
  • No one

Fits a Glock 43x

by Matt, Verified Owner from IL, United States Written on April 5, 2024
Fits the G43x with only a small amount hanging over each side. Works with the stock sights. I like that it doesn’t have any electronics but that means you need light for it to work. Unrelated but the shipping was terrible! Took two weeks when I’m only 30 miles from the warehouse
Pros:
  • Simple
  • Afffordable
  • fits well
Cons:
  • Wont work in low light

Dot seems ok, but....

by Eric, from NY, United States Written on January 11, 2024
The Ruger ReadyDot seems ok so far. However, I received neither the screws or the wrench in the packaging. Not sure if this was a mistake on the part of Ruger or if this was a returned package to Optics Planet, and the original purchaser took the screws and wrench out. Either way, it was a heck of a time trying to find replacement screws. Ruger has the absolute worst customer service I have ever dealt with. Who would think getting 2 tiny screws would be so difficult. Still haven't received them. Spend the money and get a Holosun or Trijicon. Seriously.

Works as advertised

by SgtSC12, from NC, United States Written on January 9, 2024
Having luck with Meorolight M21 self powered optics I decided to try Ruger ready dot on my Glock 43X. I have no problems picking up dot even in poorly lit interior rooms. If there’s ambient light the dot can be acquired. Albeit faintly in low light. It will disappear in the dark which shouldn’t surprise anyone considering its power source. At that point I acquire my tritium front sight or use my handheld EDC light where the dot is able to collect and power from same. My opinion on cons are that the window is very small, the glass does have a deeper blue hue than I would like, and being made out of plastic I’m sure durability is not optimal. But as a micro compact or compact carry optic for common pistol use distance of 3 to10 yards its 4 star capable and then some.
Pros:
  • Mounts flush, no adjustment needed, will gather ambient light according to brightness
Cons:
  • Small window, very blue hue on glass, as a polymer optic jury is out on durability.
  • Small window, very blue hue on glass, as it is made of polymer jury is out on durability
Best Used for:
  • EDC on compact or micro compact pistol used at short ranges
