I own 4 Safariland holsters all for one gun, call me crazy but it is due to the fact that my 1911 has a light on the bottom that I take on/off, so I have two versions of the tactical thigh holster and two versions of this waist/belt holster with and without flashlight. In general the SLS is a great security retention system for the 1911, more so than almost any other gun, because it sits between the hammer and the gun, not only holding it incredibly tight/securely but adding another piece of accidental discharge protection--something you can never have too much of when you are carrying cocked/locked with a .45ACP pointing right at your feet, arteries or other vital/non-vital body parts.
