Most Helpful Positive Review Safariland Holster
I was a little concerned when I first received this holster because it was very tight. It took a lot of pressure to get the handgun seated in the holster, and it also took a lot to draw it. In addition, if the gun wasn't seated all the way down, but instead had been tugged up 1/4 inch against the locking mechanism the gun wouldn't draw at all. However, after a few hundred practice draws the holster loosened up and these issues almost completely resolved. There is still an occasional hitch if I get going too fast and start withdrawing the weapon prior to fully activating the thumb release, but ...

Gold Standard for Duty Holster.

by Jacob Howland, Verified Owner from ID, United States Written on July 18, 2021
Bought this for my battle belt for my Gen 3 Glock 19 with streamlight TLR-1HL. Fit very well right out the package with very little wiggle once ALS locks it in. AlS locking system works as expected, and makes drawing the weapon after some practice a none issue. Have no major issues with holster.

Descrioption is poor but the 6378USN-2832-701 model comes with a coyote paddle and belt mount. ended up using a mid ride UBL to mount on battle belt.

Would recommend to anyone who wants a high quality level 1 duty holster.
Pros:
  • Good retention
  • Mounting system
  • Solid constructin
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • duty
  • LARP'ing

Perfect for G19 with TLR-7A

by JD, Verified Owner from IL, United States Written on April 8, 2021
Fit perfectly with the Glock 19 and TLR-7a. The ranger green is a little off, but most ranger green items will vary. I added the nub mod to make the draw easier on the thumbs. I’m not using any of the other accessories that comes with it, but I added a UBL mid ride to attach to my battle belt. OP shipped fast! The felt inner liner is awesome as well.

The Holster Just Works, Great For Streamlight TLR-7

by maxsupernova, from AR, United States Written on August 18, 2020
This is a really good holster for outside the waistband where a Streamlight TLR-7 is being used. Be careful when selecting to get the correct model. MPN: 6378USN-2832-701 works well with the Streamlight TLR-7.

Good Holster, poor item description

by Booie, Verified Owner from TN, United States Written on May 5, 2020
The Safariland 6378USN-238-701 is described as being capable of accepting a weappn light. This is not true. If you want the weapon light holster do not order this model. Make sure you get model number 6378USN-2382-701 for the weapon light feature. That being said, the regular holster is comfortable and the ALS system is very intuitive. I actually think my draw is faster than other friction retention kydex holsters.

Best holster

by Thub, from WA, United States Written on April 16, 2020
I love this holster! I saw flannel daddy use one and I had to have it because looking cool is the most important thing. I feel the gun is so secure holstered but when I draw the thumb button works perfectly and the draw so smooth. This is the best holster I own based on features and just how darn cool it looks.
Pros:
  • cool
  • awesome
Cons:
  • None

good holster but can’t put a light on

by Rick, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on April 3, 2020
the description says you can mount a light on it but you can’t, besides that it’s a good holster if you don’t have a light. it’s sturdy but takes practice because you will bring the whole holster up if you do not have a thigh strap. besides it not being capable of having a light like it says it does, it’s solid.
Pros:
  • good quality
Cons:
  • Non light bearing
Best Used for:
  • Training
  • On duty
  • war belts

Great working man’s holster

by Lone Ranger, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on December 6, 2019
What a well made holster. Retention is solid and fit is excellent. Note that this is a working man’s holster versus a concealment holster. The firearm does not hug your body, rather it stands away enough to make drawing with essential speed and repeatability possible. It was purpose built for duty applications and excels in that realm. The ALS system is smooth, decisive and intuitive both on draw and reholster. Having both the belt loop and paddle parts included makes it very versatile as well. I generally shy away from paddle style holsters as the stability tends to lack, but not on this one. The paddle is very stable and ‘locks’ to your belt via a sturdy tab that acts like a hook. Donning and doffing are both easy with a bit of practice. Another winner from Safariland.
Pros:
  • well built
  • Versatile
  • function and appearance
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • duty carry
  • tactical carry

The simplest, yet most superior holster on the market

by Eric Wolf, from CA, United States Written on August 28, 2018
There's absolutely no reason to turn down this holster. A holster's purpose is to keep your weapon secured and easily accessible. With the Safariland 6378 ALS holster, you get that and more. I have a glock 19 with a Streamlight TLR-1. It fits perfectly fine. I have no doubt that it will fit multiple lights. My weapon slips into the holster with the upmost ease. If at any point, I feel the retention in the holster isn't enough, with a simple turn of a knob on the side, I can easily and quickly adjust the retention of my weapon. With the ALS, you get the most secure locking mechanism so your weapon doesnt fall out from running, rappelling, or just walking around on duty. To release your weapon from the holster, as you reach for your weapon, your thumb will naturally land on the nub that you press down as you draw your weapon. This will give you a very crisp, safe draw. With a Serpa holster, the button to release your weapon is where the trigger guard will be located. Even though you're practicing safe trigger discipline by having your index extended out to disengage the locking mechanism, at the same time, you're putting yourself at a risk. You're pressing down where your trigger would be as you're drawing with a serpa holster, so in a stressful situation, you have a greater chance of accidental discharge as you're drawing the weapon. With a Safariland holster, that habit is fixed by putting the unlocking mechanism where your thumb is. I use the mid ride holster attachment so m...
