Good reception and sound quality
This unit was a Christmas gift to replace a much heavier Sangean HDR-1 radio that stopped working and, even when it worked, had trouble with a weak local station. This HDT-20 has great reception with that station, using the supplied dipole antenna pasted vertically against the inside of an exterior brick wall. It also has fine audio quality through a small power amp and bookshelf speakers. It has worked flawlessly for several hours per day for several weeks now. The remote control works well and the station setup was reasonably intuitive. We use the headphone jack for output so as to have volume control from the tuner remote, but the line outputs work fine. We haven't tried the digital output.

Sangean AM/FM HD Component Tuner
This is a great tuner. FM has a great tuner & the HD stations give you great choices. The AM tuner seems a little weak but no worse than any other AM tuner I have ever had. Still a fantastic tuner.
Pros:
- Strong FM tuner
- Quality sound on HD channels
- Additional programming on HD stations
Cons:
- The AM tuner could be a little stronger
Best Used for:
- Home or Motorhome
