Factory Magazine
When I got this magazine, I compared it to the one that came with the rifle (Savage Axis .223) and found that they are identical in appearance and function, feeding reliably and no issues with the mag release. I would prefer if it did not load like a pistol magazine since I am used to rifles loading by just pushing the rounds in from the top but that isn't a problem with the quality or fit and finish of the item, which in this case is good to go.

New and improved
The magazine I received for my 223 axis has a spring loaded latch instead of that bent over plastic latch. The new is of a new and better design and looks to be way more robust and less likely to break. It also has the word savage molded into the bottom floor plate. It is big improvement over the original mag and I highly recommend it.
