Most Helpful Positive Review The scope is a tank!
In my opinion, this is the best tactical/long range scope in the market. It has over 100moa of adjustment for 2k meter shots, glass quality is superb, and tube looks indestructible. Also, the company is strong, and will take care of you when the scope needs maintenance. On another note, the size and...

Most Helpful Negative Review Very Focused, High Quality, Not Versatile, Limited Utility
I bought this scope maybe 5-6 years ago thinking that I was going to shoot long range before I knew what I was getting into and that in my extended area you only have access to at most 200 yard ranges, in one case 300y. I started out with cheap scopes that weren't that good but quickly discovered th...

the schmidt is good ,but there is a better rifle scope for the money

by denbectec, from PA, United States Written on August 6, 2018
i bought a leupold mark -8 elr rifle optic ,its clearer than this german scope, even though they are both a bit pricey ill still pick the leupold over the bender any day of the week ,the leupold is lighter and has better glass period ,no contest there at all.been a shooter for over 45 yrs ,did some military shooting in the sand box as well ,i got to dx my mark-8 after i ets'd out ,im really glad i did that,i sent itback to leupold and they repaired the cosmetic damage, right now it sits ob a .224 caliber auto rifle ,and its the best optic i have ever used bar none.
Pros:
  • pretty good scope ,but not the best
Cons:
  • the bender is a bit heavy
Best Used for:
  • long distance accurate shooting

Great scope, especially if you can pick it up when Optic Planet has it on sale

by Ray, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on September 10, 2017
Top tier scope with crystal clear glass. Sold my Vortex HD2 and AMG after picking up this glass.
Bought it on OP when it was on sale for $2400~.
Only problem is using this glass will make you want to upgrade your other lower priced scopes!

Great Scope, but pricey

by Schlecht Schoss, Verified Owner from MI, United States Written on March 22, 2017
The glass is unparalleled. I've put this side-by-side with many other brands and Schmidt is always at or tied for top spot clarity-wise. The turrets are crisp and accurate. Re-zeroing the turrets is easy, although I'd rather the elevation knob bottom out zero instead of minus zero point six MIL. I suppose the thought is you zero at two hundred and 'bottom out' at one hundred for most cartridges, but if you're dialing anyway why not just go to zero? I love the MSR reticle; uncluttered but with one tenth MIL increments on the L for those times when you're steady enough and have lots of time for ranging. The illuminated crosshair has plenty of brightness adjustment for real low-light situations (you can barely see it in daylight even at the highest setting). I got this on sale at a pretty good discount from OP. If price is no object this optic is hard to beat. In lieu of a good sale, it's a more difficult decision because IOR has equivalent glass for substantially less cost.
Pros:
  • Awesome optical clarity
  • good repeatable turret adjustment
Cons:
  • Ridiculously high MSRP
  • Elevation turret could have a lower profile

Amazing clarity

by Mike, from OH, United States Written on February 25, 2017
This is easily the nicest scope I've had the pleasure of working work. Light transmission is super bright, glass clarity is top notch and turret tracking is precise. One thing to note is that they offer a clockwise style turret which is backwards from what most scope manufacturers use. Opt for counter clockwise turrets if you're looking for a traditional style turret setup.
Pros:
  • Amazing glass
  • Very reliable tracking
  • Bright light transmission
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • long range and precision shooting

sb pmii.......

by common762, from GA, United States Written on February 13, 2017
very pleased with the product, great glass, great repeatability, field of view. top of the line. now for the cons. I think for the money SB could include a description of whatever reticle is in the scope and how to use it. Also be aware that the scope is biased for long range shooting so you will need a 20moa drop mount to get the full use of your elevation adjustment. I put the scope on an accuracy international and initially zeroed at 100 and used up 24 moa of elevation to get to poi.

Schmidt Bender PM rifle scope

by KA, Verified Owner from AZ, United States Written on November 4, 2016
There are many other rifle scopes out there, but this one is mine. It presents the most crisp and clear images, especially at long distance, of any scope I have ever looked through. The mechanics are top shelf German engineering and I am expecting a lifetime (maybe 2) of great service. I opted for the H2CMR reticle and am very happy with it.
The only downside is the damage to the pocketbook.

Best scope

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on May 1, 2014
I bought this scope last year for my accuracy international ax50 50bmg. The double turn turret doesn't let you utilize all of the scopes elevation adjustment without loosening the turret and resetting zero higher. I tried a non Ai scope base and after 5 shots it sheared the picitinny crossbar off the base. Bought a new Ai base, bolted the scope back on and it was dead on.. perfect picture and so strong

Pros: Very heavy duty. awesome clarity
Cons: Too expensive

Lives up to the hype

by Legacy Reviewer, from TX, United States Written on January 27, 2014
I purchased this scope after reading months of reviews and forums. No where have I read of someone who purchased an S&B saying they regretted their purchase. My initial impressions were that the scope is well designed and built to last. I'm relatively a novice user so I don't believe I can fully appreciate the specs yet but I know I'm not going to look for a replacement. I didn't realize how heavy it would be, though. It's like adding a brick to your gun bringing a 14+ lb Barrett to over 20 lbs (weighs more than my 18-mo old.) The eye relief for the magnification is exemplary for all but the 25 magnification. You'll still need to square up perfectly to get a full view at 25. My biggest nag is the scope covers. Of course the front flip up cover is easily twisted to be square but the back cover is so tightly wrapped around the adjustable eye-piece that I still haven't been able to take off the scope cover for fear of damaging the rubber eye-piece. So to adjust it just right, the scope cover has to flip up at a 45 degree cant. It in no way hinders functionality but it's still a bother and I haven't gotten the nerve yet to try and pull that sucker off.
Pros: Glass Quality, Options, Eye Relief
Cons: Weight, Size, Scope Covers
