I am new to shooting and wanted something easier to carry to the range than sandbags. I shoot Ar 15s and I had a hard time with this stand. The leather pad is not as big as I expected it would be. The benches at the range are not much to brag about. I had a hard time getting a good position and it didn't feel HIGHLY stable. It is very well built and highly adjustable and I would still buy it even knowing what I know now. Using the Shooters Ridge Tri-Stance Gun Rest has improved my shooting ability by eliminating the shooters shake. This unit is solid and provides a stable platform. I have purchased two units and have been satisfied with their performance.

I bought this gun rest to use a the range and it works well for me. the range has nice benches and with this stand I can adjust the gun to the target easily. Maximum height is 10".
