Most Helpful Positive Review Great hunting package
There are alot of things to like about this package and a few things I don't care for. First, the range finder is amazing and the absolute best bang for your buck as far as range finders go. Its pretty easy to use and along with the app for your phone it can do alot more than probably most shooters....

Most Helpful Negative Review Mostly useless for winter hunt
I do not recommend this system unless you will be using it at temp 35 and above. What I found out (and confirmed by SIG) is the units become useless in sub freezing temperatures. The batteries will not function when you need it the most. Maybe next hunt I keep the rangefinder in my pocket and put...

Super easy

by Taximan, from KS, United States Written on May 27, 2022
Very nice set up. Easy to use and works like expected. So far just used it on steel, hitting 8" plate out to 500 yards with ease with Sako S20 using 6.5 creedmoor. I can't wait for hunting season! Thinking about adding a stronger/better range finder for my old eyes.

Connection

by Marco F, from FL, United States Written on September 22, 2020
I bought the kilo 1600 with scope 2.5 8x32, this 2 tools are fantastic, the issue i had is that connection between scope are not stable, you get disconnected with out warning. Vere things need to fix. 1. Need to to timed the last range on your scope, cause how you know , if that was the last ranged target. Only if the input on the scope that info. 2. I have a Bortex 1000 , and believe me i compare both, and Bortex RF more effective and fast. The display way more better. 3. Connectivity has to be impecable, you can relie on your phone to know if your bounded or not. The app should be good for the updates, custom profiles, etc but to manage the connection there is no way. Scope and range finder have need to have full independence from the phone. I guess sig disconnected the devices to save power but unfortunately , when you have a opportunity you can plug and play with your phone to be accurate.

I recant my some what negative comments

by Concrete from AR, from AR, United States Written on September 6, 2020
The problem I had with the rangefinder not communicating with the scope was due to not verifying that the two were “bonded”. Each time you use the BDW , you need to go thru the app on you phone and verify that they are bonded. My second issue was with the quickness of the rangefinder and I still think that giving the used the choice of rate or one click would be good, but for the most part experience has made this a non-issue.

I have re-zeroed my rifles to 100 yards so as to use the BDX Rangefinder for shooting solutions. I am working up to shooting the 800 yards that the soft ware will accommodate. Happy Shooter in AR

Rangefinder shows Bluetooth but does not connect to the scope

by Concrete from AR, from AR, United States Written on July 2, 2020
I have complained before that the rangefinder is hard to use in that its 4” dimension is hard to hold on target and that you often get secondary undesired readings because it is so quick to range a target. I made an extreme effort to eliminate this and identify range & )Blue tooth connection on each shot, but today w 10 shots from 100/300/400 yds, in 10 shots I had 3 times that the rangefinder indicated a Bluetooth connection and did not communicate with the scope. As I said I was on a range w known distances and the failure to change elevations in the scope was obvious. The Rangefinder had the range right. One of the occasions was a double fault (2 times in succession). The scope showed the previous elevation and the light on the scope was steady/on. The third ranging was the charm and all was well. Later the same thing happened again, making it three times.

I Indicated that I would not recommend it to someone, but I am fascinated w the concept and believe/hope the tech issues will be resolved, but I would have to explain the the problems to anyone asking about the Combo. At this point I will only us the scope on the shooting range as I use 2 rifles to get comfortable with using the shooting solution of the rangefinder to adjust elevation/wind age on the conventional scope.

I had a discussion w another person today who has a BDX w the same issues. Like me he has several rifles and is ‘playing” w this Combo.

Scope does not show which ranging info it received from rangefinder

by Concrete from AR, from AR, United States Written on June 27, 2020
The rangefinder gives range information at the rate of 1/4 second. That being said it is all to easy to get a side range while releasing the range button and not looking at the range information. If you are on the shooting range you know about where the elevation should be, but in a hunting stand, in the rush to get your shot before the opportunity disappears this will cause many blown shots.

I suppose with more experience with BDX I will overcome this handicap and I write this that the techies at Sig S will pickup on it. Otherwise I give the combo a solid 4 stars. One thing that I see as a definite plus is that the rangefinder will give ranging info to use with other scopes. Also should there be issues with the combo it will be self diagnostic as to whether it is the RF or Sc. Lastly I like to scan with the rangefinder as opposed to holding the rifle up. - who likes to look across the way and see someone scoping them?

Here is hoping a good system gets an upgrade to a full 5 STARS

The not recommend is a qualified no. Everything is not yes/no

Great Set Up

by Peacemaker, from NM, United States Written on May 23, 2019
I love the scope and range finder set up. I put it on a Ruger Precision Rifle in 6.5 Creedmor. Shoots great and it is fast when acquiring a range and shooting solution. The only complaint that I have is that it is only good for 800 yards unless you add a kestrel with it. It should be good to acquire a shooting solution out to 1000 yards. I guess I will purchasing a Kestrel next.
Pros:
  • fast
Cons:
  • 800 Yards
