Dennis's Review of SIG SAUER ROMEO5 1x20mm 2 MOA Red Dot Sight
Have two of the Sig Romeo 5 red dots. Use them primarily for competition shooting. One is on my 9mm Pistol Caliber Carbine, and the second one is on my wife's AR15. Both Romeo 5 units are used for competition every other week plus practice sessions. We don't turn them off in between sessions and the auto power down/ power up works as it is supposed to. The dots are uniform and the zero doesn't shift. I decided to change the batteries every year, and have just done so. Mine had been in service for just over a year, and my wife's about 6 months. I also have an Aimpoint on my own AR for comparison. The Aimpoint may be more rugged, but we don't beat these weapons so that is probably a moot advantage. If one were riding in a patrol car the Aimpoint would deliver better battery life but that isn't our use for the competition rifles. The dot isn't any better on the Aimpoint. For 1/3 or less money than an Aimpoint, the Sig Romeo 5 is a better value for our uses, and I plan to purchase another Romeo 5 in the near future.
