Magic's Review of Sig Sauer Tango MSR LPVO 1-6x24mm, 30mm Tube, Rifle Scope, Second Focal Plane
This is an 8200 round update to my initial review on this scope. It resides on a PSA JAKL, mainly used for CQB training, definitely not a Bench Betty. Mechanically, SOLID. Zero was lost once after being dropped pretty hard on asphalt. Windage turret cap was banged enough that we had to use pliers to screw it off. Whether the zero was lost in the scope or at the mount, I couldn't say. After resetting zero, it's held up just fine. When scope was new, it had zero fisheye at any magnification. After being beat up and put through it's paces, a fisheye has been developing little by little, between 1-3X. Don't know the inner workings well enough to say what can be causing this, but at 1 X, it's almost to the point where it's annoying. And this is the reason why it might be going back to Sig to be either fixed or replaced. Magnification ring has become much much softer as compared to when it was new. Still provides enough resistance to stay in place but much easier to operate. I like it. Illumination knob still kinda sucks as it lacks off settings between the on settings. Really wish it has that feature.....really. The finish on this scope, as stated in my first review, is very sensitive. If you are buying this for a safe queen which you want to keep looking fresh forever, look elsewhere. It marks and scratches VERY easily. Maybe just slightly better than regular spray paint over the base material. There's no edge on this scope where the finish hasn't already been worn through. The SIG SAUER logos on the sides have just about been worn completely off. This is purely cosmetic but the scope is about 2 months old and looks decades older than ACOGs which I've been bumping around for the past 10 years. Optic clarity is still on point. Really like this scope for the fact that it has been absolutely 100 percent reliable. It might look ugly as sh*t but it has functioned exceptionally well for me. And I don't baby my stuff. If it wasn't for the fisheye that's been coming in, it would be a permanent fixture on my rifle. I trust SIG will do me solid and get the issue resolved so I can keep putting rounds down range. Tough little scope, that's for sure. Also mentioned, in my first review, the fear of having the zoom lever snap off during hard use. Other than needing a little vibra-tite to keep it from coming loose every now and then, the lever is still there after being tossed and banged around. Yes, I absolutely do recommend this scope to anyone who is on the fence about it. It's a no thrills, no frills, get 'er done, little grunt!!
