UPDATE!!!!! Tango MSR 1-6x24mm

Written on Apr 24, 2023

This is an 8200 round update to my initial review on this scope. It resides on a PSA JAKL, mainly used for CQB training, definitely not a Bench Betty. Mechanically, SOLID. Zero was lost once after being dropped pretty hard on asphalt. Windage turret cap was banged enough that we had to use pliers to screw it off. Whether the zero was lost in the scope or at the mount, I couldn't say. After resetting zero, it's held up just fine. When scope was new, it had zero fisheye at any magnification. After being beat up and put through it's paces, a fisheye has been developing little by little, between 1-3X. Don't know the inner workings well enough to say what can be causing this, but at 1 X, it's almost to the point where it's annoying. And this is the reason why it might be going back to Sig to be either fixed or replaced. Magnification ring has become much much softer as compared to when it was new. Still provides enough resistance to stay in place but much easier to operate. I like it. Illumination knob still kinda sucks as it lacks off settings between the on settings. Really wish it has that feature.....really. The finish on this scope, as stated in my first review, is very sensitive. If you are buying this for a safe queen which you want to keep looking fresh forever, look elsewhere. It marks and scratches VERY easily. Maybe just slightly better than regular spray paint over the base material. There's no edge on this scope where the finish hasn't already been worn through. The S

1-6x24 Predator GenIII scope

Written on Feb 27, 2023

Good scope for the money.....for the money. Keep in mind that this scope is really budget priced so don't expect the performance and clarity as you would from much higher priced optics. Definitely enough to get the job done. Zero retention on my wife's and I matching 6.5 Grendels is perfect. Dialing in is kind of a pain due to the super soft and hardly audible turrets. This is a set and forget affair, so you only gotta deal with it once. Clarity is actually fairly decent through the magnification but fisheye is pretty bad around the edges. I bought two of these to go on matching coyote/hog guns seeing that the BDC reticle is dedicated to range estimating coyotes and hogs. With that being said, the reticle delivers as promised. If you do your job at properly zeroing as per the scope manual, all you have to do is hold the corresponding drop on your target and pull the trigger. Ranging hogs is a little harder than it is with coyotes but it's absolutely doable. For the purpose that these scopes are intended for, they deliver. No regrets, again, considering the price you pay for them. One thing that really bugs my wife and I is that the rear scope cap on BOTH scopes barely stay closed on their own and pop open if you so much as sneeze within a 25 foot radius of them. Tried moving them around, readjusting, etc., but they just don't like to hold shut. Front caps click shut solidly and take a solid purchase while closed. Illumination is....ehhhhhh. Nothing to brag about. With everyth

Tango MSR 1-6x24....Great little scope

Written on Feb 13, 2023

Received this on Friday and used the sh*t out of it this weekend. Sighting in at a busy range was a bit tricky because the turrets are just so quiet and not very tactile .....AT ALL. Dial faces leave a bit to be wished for. That being said, once it was zeroed in, it was a set-it-and-forget it deal. Honestly bought the scope without expectations, due to it's crazy low price. Figured that for the price and features, I'd give it a shot and return it right back if I didn't like it. Well, it looks like this lil' scope has found a permanent home atop my JAKL. After 650'ish rounds through it over the weekend, I'm thoroughly impressed. This is my first LPVO and won't be my last. Clarity of the glass right up to 4.5-5X is crazy good for something that's a quarter of the price of my next least expensive scope. Not to say the clarity above that is bad but it does drop off, yet stays absolutely useable. No noticeable fisheye or fringing even around the edges. The reticle was super intuitive to me, especially for never having used a BDC reticle in my life. Eye relief is great, although, eye box gets a little tight at 4X and above. With proper cheek weld, that shouldn't be a problem for seasoned shooters. One thing I could note that needs improvement is the illumination knob. Being that it does not have an automatic on/shutdown feature, an OFF setting between ON settings would make this scope just so much greater. Found out once I had returned home from the range that I'd left the illumina

.224 trimmer pilot

Worked just as it should. No problems with fitment or finish while working new unprepared Nosler brass or once fired Federal brass. no complaints. It's a Hornady product. Not much more to say about it.

Best bang for the buck, hands down

Clear optics out to 24x, tracking is 99.5-100%, zero stop, generous eye relief, kick a** reticle, illuminated, super tactile turret clicks, tough....on and on and on. Coming from a mindset that you have to spend big bucks to get good stuff, this scope blew me away. Compared to scopes that are almost quite literally 3 times the price, I kick myself for not jumping on one of these sooner. I can sit here, rant and rave, and tell you all the good things about it, but everyone's already done that. I'll tell you my only gripe with this scope. The magnification ring is crazy stiff. Had to order a throw lever to ease that problem. Other than that, WOW!!

Just buy it

It's Magpul......get it, screw it on, and enjoy. Remains "grippy" even when wet while running exercises, ergonomic, and improved angle is on point. Not much else to say. Storage compartment is perfect for spare parts kit. Wrap in camo tape to keep it quiet in there and you're GTG.
