Most Helpful Positive Review sig tango 6 3-18x44
Having had quite a few high end scopes, I can say this scope holds its own very well. I would put it above the T5xi, as far as glass, and equal to the Razor Gen II, at least to my eye. I think the levelplex is a cool feature. The illumination is nicely done and daylight bright without bleeding. When...

Most Helpful Negative Review Returned - Elevation Turret Assembly Did Not Function Correctly
This scope seemed like a great option, especially considering at the time I ordered it the NEW condition DEV-L MOA model I purchased was listed at $1288 and came with a free Sig 2200 BDX Rangefinder. However, the elevation turret assembly did not function as advertised, so I returned everything. The...

Almost a great scope.

by Bigjimmy, from TX, United States Written on November 1, 2021
I have had this scope for a couple of years now and I have used it both for range sessions and hog hunting here in Texas. When I first received it the internal level was way off so I sent it back and they quickly fixed it and sent it back in good working order. The best thing about this scope is all the features and reticle options. I do like the scope and intend to keep it on my 308 AR hog hunting rig. So far it has survived the beating it gets riding in a gun case on my ATV over some very rough trails. I have only once checked zero and had a POI change. I'm not sure what this was but it has not happened since so I have put it out of my mind.
The main reason for the 4-star rating is the scope is not as good as it should be in low light. Hunting hogs involves lots of low to no light shooting and the Tango6 does not gather much light especially considering its cost. The illumination on the reticle does help because it has a very wide range of settings and you can always get the proper illumination for the lighting. I think if Sig worked on their lens coatings they could improve the low light capabilities of this scope but for now it's not so great for low light applications.
Pros:
  • Lots of features, Nice turrets, reticle selection
Cons:
  • Not great in low light situations
Best Used for:
  • Punching paper, steel, and daytime hunting.

Long, Sad Story

by Dtheff, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on March 29, 2021
Purchased this to install on a POF P6.5 Edge with a Larue Mount. Experienced 2 MOA POI “jumps” in elevation at 200 yards every 6 or 7 rounds. Normal expectation was that the mount was moving on the rail but was verified to not be the case. Since I had been delayed mounting the optic on the rifle, I was now dealing with Sig directly for resolution. They swapped it out for a new one. Mounted on the same rifle with a different mount, a SWAT Sniper family member ran a ladder test at 50 yards on the combo. Between round 6 and 7 there was no elevation change, multiple times. Ladder test fail. Sig replaced the optic a second time. Fast forward to present and the THIRD optic is mounted on a Remington 700 5R .308 with a 20 inch barrel via Nightforce rings. This particular example has the same error experienced by the first one as verified by myself and my SWAT family member. Since Sig sent this one with the comment “you can do with this one as you wish” (I read this as don’t call back), I’m stuck with a poor example of what should be a great optic.

  • great glass

Excellent quality glass, but wonky turrets.

by Dave, Verified Owner from OR, United States Written on January 7, 2020
I was excited for this scope due to this awesome price and overall features. When I took it out the zero it on my rifle the elevation knob literally froze and would not move in either direction. I reset the zero multiple times hoping this would solve the issue but it will not budge. Too bad the knobs were not better thought out because this is super clear glass and overall feels very quality. Will be returning and going with a different option.
Pros:
  • Quality
  • glass
  • reticle
Cons:
  • Turrets

SIG Tango 6 on 6.5 Creedmore

by Dilusi, from TX, United States Written on April 2, 2019
I bought this optic for multiple uses on a 6.5 Creedmore and simply love it. The MRAD reticle is crisp and clear and adjustments are very precise and simple. I'll likely get another for one of my better bolt guns so I can easily memorize the turret adjustments. On con was there was only gray was available at the time I purchased and I would've preferred black.
Pros:
  • Clear & bright optics
Cons:
  • Only had gray
Best Used for:
  • hunting
  • Range
  • Long range / tactical scopes

Sig Sauer Tango 6

by 2A All The Way, from ME, United States Written on November 29, 2018
Apparently Sig has graduated scope school with honors,i checked these out at the Sig Pro Shop and was very impressed, their built way over kill, super clear Japanese glass, actually made in Japan, huge turrets, nice return to zero, great MOA reticle, illuminantion isnt overly bright in day light but doesnt distort either, the gray color is a wlcome change and i think adds to the quality appearance of the scope, mounted on a Sig 716 gen 2 6.5 creedmoor,it is somewhat heavy but if you saw the scope youd understand why,Optics Planet was also 900.00 less than buying directly at the Sig Pro Shop.
Pros:
  • Everything
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Tactical
  • mid to long range shooting

best optic for the money

by CJ, Verified Owner from MI, United States Written on August 19, 2018
ok, I don't review products often, but this a a amazing optic, so out of the box the first think i noticed was the weight, definitely heavier that the competitors, leupold mark6 3-18 weighing in at around 24oz, and the S&B 3-20 around 32oz, and the tango6 at just about 37oz, it is built like a tank, next glass qualty, its not the best glass I've seen but it competes with most higher end optics I've seen, NF Trijicon accupower leupold mark6 ext, now the turrets sig could have done better, the checkering is a nice touch, but the clicks are not as addable and firm as I had hoped, but overall not bad, they are lockable and zerostop of course, not to get into grave detail but so many more features make this optic awesome, motac levelplex the cosmetics are better than any other 3k+ plus optic I've used, overall seems to be a very rugged reliable optic, range time was particularly fun with the tango6, on my ar10 from 10yds speed shooting out to 400yds not a problem, the illuminated reticle and the massive FOV on 3x comparable to a 4x32 acog makes close range shots easy and quick, with enough magnification to make long range shots,
so not the best on the market but considering you can pick these of usually for around 2000, you cannot go wrong with this scope!!!
Pros:
  • rugged
  • reliable
  • packed with features
Cons:
  • Turret adjustment not pronounced
  • glass not top of the line
Best Used for:
  • taactical use
  • Military / police snipers

Savings Meets Excellent Service

by Art, from PA, United States Written on July 8, 2018
I found a scope I thought might be the best choice for a new distance rifle. The shop I give almost all my business wanted a high price for the scope. I decided to check OpticsPlant as I’ve puchased a few MePro 21s from them before. To my surprise and joy I got the high end scope I wanted, delivered in a couple of days and saved over $1,100.00 which includes the discount the store I usually frequent offers me. Saving, free delivery and excellent service. I have a new “regular store”. I’ve recommended OpticsPlant to many friends and gun club members and will continue to do so.
Pros:
  • Selection, prices, delivery and follow up ser
  • Selection, price and service
Cons:
  • none thus far
Best Used for:
  • Wide selection for other items

Tango6 3x18x44 Scope

by Donald Hanson, Verified Owner from MO, United States Written on January 5, 2018
I installed the Tango6 on a custom built AR and found it to be of exceptional quality. Waiting to get more rounds through the bore, then chronograph the MV before ordering the custom torrent. Seems to be dead on as far as return to zero stop and adjustments. Optics are excellent quality with good eye relief. I do like the DEV-L reticle and the illumination works well for changing conditions. This is the first 34mm tube I have owned and it does improve light gathering over the 30mm. The anti-cant is a nice feature to have and it is pretty sensitive. I have built the weapon to be a Medium to Long Range coyote gun, and I think it was the perfect choice. So all in all it has a lot of "Pro" features. The only "Cons" I can think of are that it is big and heavy, as would be expected for this size of Optic. Also I wish it came with good flip up lens covers instead of the standard caps with rubber "bands". The 44mm plastic cap has already cracked.
Pros:
  • Great optic quality
  • Nice finish and fit
  • Good torrent adjustment system
  • Appears to be very durable.
Cons:
  • cheap lens caps
  • big and heavy
Best Used for:
  • varmit hunting
  • Target Acquisition in any lighting
