Love the eye piece on this optic
This scope is perfect for my application of needed quick target acquisition at short range and to occasionally take longer distance shots. I had a 1-8 power optic before this one and this scope gives me just as good of a sight picture at short ranges but is alot better at 600 yards on 10x. The eye p...

Bad distortion and poor quality control
The first whiskey 5 2-10x I bought had an illuminator that didn't work. I sent the scope in to SIG for repair. They sent me a new one. Then I discovered how bad the distortion is. For a quality scope, distortion should be imperceivable within 90% of the field of view. An excellent optic will ha...

Some distortion
I got this on sale for less than half price so I am happy with what I got for the money, but not sure if I'd be happy at full price. If it was always $400 then is give it 4 or 5 stars. There is some distortion at the edge of the field of view, especially at lower power. It is much more noticeable before you mount it on a gun. Once on a gun when you have proper eye relief and placement the distortion is dramatically reduced. You have to look for it to notice. I bought this because I wanted something in this magnification range with a simple redical. I have a strike eagle 1-8 but the redical is too busy for basic hunting. This is living on my 6.8 spc which is used for hunting under 200yds and it fits the bill nicely. The adjustable turret is nice to have in case I get the opportunity to stretch out a bit further
Pros:
- 5x Magnification
- Simple illuminated redical
Cons:
- Distortion
Best Used for:
- hunting
- target

Lacked clarity
Was disappointed in the follow areas - optic clarity wasn't what I expected, illumination was not concise - the led light had too much dispersion, special tool was needed to set dial to zero after sighting in, and bulky in design and weight. Fit and finish was good and detents on dials good. I believe there is better optics with less bulk and easier to use - example Leupold. I retuned the product and purchased Leica similar specs - product much more refined and optics excellent. Would not recommend the sig Whiskey product as mentioned there are better choices at same price point.
Pros:
- fit and finish good
Cons:
- Optics and illumination lacked clarity
Would recommend: No
