Got this to illuminate a night sight camera, but found that it worked better than the illuminator that came with my night vision scope at half the price.
Pros: uses aaa batteries
Cons: none that I've found
I use a sightmark photon which is excellent for the money for hunting, so I bought this light for a little extra light.its compete junk . Totally worthless in fact I'm wrapping it up to send back right now

I mounted this alongside my nightvision scope and brought it out hunting for the first time a few days ago. It's a huge improvement over what I had. It was like an Infrared spotlight. I was actually able to spot a small pig in the brush with ease. Too bad the second I clicked off my safety it bolted faster than Barry Allen. Oh well. A loud safety switch isn't the fault of this illuminator. I guess that's my nest purchase!
Pros:
easy to use
bright
Cons:
None
Best Used for:
hunting

Really works well, I will probably buy another one as a backup, I would recommend this item for an nightvision application, all I can say is is that I like it a lot, I mounted it on a M4 clone and took it out in the bush and it is still working fine, I use it inconjuction with a night vision monocular and it really makes a difference.

The Sightmark IR-805 puts out IR radiation that brightens the image in the Yukon NVRS Titanium 2.5x50 Night Vision rifle scope. Unfortunately, there is also some visible red being emitted also, so you are not invisible. I will probably take the unit apart and see if I can replace the light emitting diode (LED) with an LED that emits entirely at 805 nm.
