I ordered the unit direct from Sightmark. The first unit received wouldn't turn on. Returned it and it took a week after they received the first one to send a replacement which supposedly went through QC. I got the second unit and installed it on my pistol. The laser turned on and was visible with indoor lighting. Went to the range and tried to align the laser at 15 yards on a covered range in daylight. I couldn't find the green dot anywhere down range. I started aiming the laser at the ground in front of me slowly raising the sight to see where the dot disappeared. The dot vanished 10 feet in front of me. The write up on the Sightmark website clearly states "Visibility extends to 50 yards during the day and 600 yards at night." I called Tech Support and was left with the impression that I didn't have a warranty issue because of the poor performance of the laser.

Nice laser. I have it mounted on an S&W M&P 15-22. I have taken it to the range two times so far and it seems to hold zero fairly well. The green laser can be easily seen in day time. Of course, on a very bright day, it is going to be a little harder to see than on a somewhat cloudy day. It does have a blinking flashing mode, so that helps in locating the dot.

It is easy to turn on and off. The button is easy to operate. I actually have it mounted on the top rail, just in front of a scope. I have removed the iron sights so I can mount a scope, so mounting it on top isn't an issue. Although, the laser sits fairly high, it does not interfer with the scope. The reason I have it mounted on the top rail is that so I can easily operate the on off switch with my thumb. This set up is very intuitive while holding the rifle in the firing position. It requires minimal movements from the left hand, merely moving your thumb a very small distance. Mounting it this way keeps you from having to attach the remote switch, which I think makes the weapon very cumbersome. You do not need any wires routed around the weapon.

This is a good unit. I like it.

I would have rated it higher except it was advertised to fit most compact pistols. It will not fit a Ruger American compact. The problem is the cross bar is built into the housing of the laser and will not allow the laser to be far enough forward to fit. A good design except for that issue.

I purchased this green laser sight a couple of weeks ago. The sight works and looks great. It's small and compact requiring very little rail space. This would be great for a handgun with a rail or in my case I wanted to use it on a new DP-12 shotgun with the forward rail attachment. It suits this purpose just fine.

This is a very good Laser,easy to see, and adjust.
Works in cold weather a plus fro winter hunting. Placed in 35 degree refrigerator took out worked just fine.
All others tried did not work at all or you could see the laser only about 10 yards.
