Most Helpful Negative Review Low Quality
I have an older Sightmark Red Dot reflex sight that that still holds zero after years of abuse. Just received this new one. The QD clamp on the bottom is cockeyed way off center. Had to adjust as far as it would go right to get on target but it won't hold zero. After about 60 rounds 5.56 it shut o...

Works well

by HighpreistGabagool, Verified Owner from AS, United States Written on September 19, 2023
Put around 500 rounds of 5.56 through it, its been dropped and scratched up, but it still holds zero well and its still bright and clearly visible. Dunno about a duty red dot, but for plinking, home defense, and lighter uses, it does its job well in my experience.
Pros:
  • Cheap

Doesnt hold zero

The Sightmark Ultra Shot Plus 1x 4-Pattern MOA Reticle Red Dot Sight
I have other Sightmark optics that work correctly, unfortunately, this one doesn't.

I had the sight dialed in at 50 yards, and proceeded to run several rounds through my rifle. By time i emptied my magazine it was 2' off. I re-sited in the red dot and had the same issue.

Very disappointed.

Cons:
  • doesnt work

User Friendly

This was my first optic to ever purchase for my AR 15. It was extremely easy to mount and sight in. On my next weapon, I am very like to purchase this sight again. Also, I have used other sights on my friend's weapons and for the price, this is great quality.

4-Pattern reticle selection imprecise and affects zero

by Pierre Jutras, Verified Owner from VA, United States Written on September 6, 2020
I purchased this sight for my AR-15. Construction and fit are great. Sight did not lose my zero after several hundred rounds with a caveat. My issue is with the reticle selector. The sight provides four reticles to choose from and a selector lever on the back of the sight allows you to slide it left and right to select the reticle. I zeroed the sight at 25 yards with the lever slid all the way to the left. It zeroed quickly and allowed accurate hits. But when I changed to a different reticle, I no longer was zeroed. The reticle selection is not precise. The lever does not "click" into a precise location and therefore the selected reticle can be moved left and right within your field of vision. Using a different reticle put my rounds off 4 inches at 25 yards. Once I realized the issue, I moved the lever all the way left and again was hitting accurately per my zero. This means to me that I cannot change reticles without re-zeroing my weapon to that reticle. I will leave the lever all the way to the left to avoid losing my zero. As ranges increase, the 4 inch offset multiples quickly. This is a very poor design and one that can cause a shooter to be well off target if they are unaware of the reticle slop.
Pros:
  • Construction
  • Mounting
  • Held zero while shooting
Cons:
  • Reticle selector poorly designed

Sightmark sm26008

by Lycal1, from FL, United States Written on July 14, 2020
So I just ordered one from optics planet but this will be my 4th one. I have 2 on 2 Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 and one on an AR pistol 5.56. The one I just ordered is for another M&P 15-22 and might need a 5th one soon. I was looking at the Holosum but starting at 299.99 vs 99.99 for the sightmark so I tried it and loved it.
Pros:
  • Easy to work with and install
Cons:
  • None on my opinion
Best Used for:
  • Am using 3 on AR's

Awesome Red Dot for the Price

by Riley, from WA, United States Written on June 28, 2020
The Sightmark Ultra Shot Plus is a all around great deal for the low retail price that you can snag them for, allowing you to select from 4 different reticle types and two different colors. I personally myself have had zero issues with the unit itself, it holds zero just fine and the QD system stays latched on tight even when using it on my 450 bushmaster upper.
Pros:
  • Ease of use
  • lifetime warranty
  • Quality & Affordable
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Plinking & target shooting

Sightmark ultra shot

by Jonathan, from GA, United States Written on May 3, 2020
My first impression was great, looked good and seemed functional. Went out and sent a couple rounds down the barrel and right out the box at 50 it was almost dead on. 1"low 1" left. Not bad at all. After about 10 rounds the qd released and it hit the dirt. I adjusted the tension nut back and forth but the qd lever kept releasing. Even tried it on 2 other black rifles. I am completely disappointed. If you buy one don't get one with a qd
Pros:
  • Works good, looks good, easy on the wallet
Cons:
  • qd lever won't stay locked, comes unlocked after a few rounds
Best Used for:
  • Wall hanger

Expected quality

by expected, from LA, United States Written on April 16, 2020
I think this red dot sight works well for my purpose. I saw it in one of review videos, and wanted to try it out with my ar 22 rifle. I like the square shaped glass on this red dot better than those with circular types. Among several options for the dot, I chose one that I like and stick to it. I'd recommend this to anyone who needs a red dot just for having fun at the range.
Pros:
  • good quality
  • Sturdy
  • Looks nice
  • Not too expensive
Cons:
  • none yet
Best Used for:
  • Range use
