Competes with VX-II
great scope. probably the best for the money. I've compared this with my vortex, leupold, and burris ff2. Competes with all of them. Adjust the fast focus out a little to get a bigger sight picture.
Pros: Glass, great turrets, revolution markings
Cons: need to produce one with higher magnification ...

Great glass,poor construction
Round count 25 on top of a 308 went to adjust AO for 100 yrds and the ring spins on the scope.Thought well the numbers really dont matter anyway as long as it is clear right?Figured i could live with that.Round count about 30 went to adjust elevation and no movement on impact, round count 34 top turr...

Good Quality Optic for 22LR Rifle
I purchased this scope for a Marlin XT-22 rifle because it has the adjustable objective lens and tactical turrets. Most 22 scopes do not have either of these options. Scope is well made and has very clear optics. similar in quality to my Nikon 22 4 power scope. Only reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the light pressure clicks on the turrets. You can feel the clicks but they are very light and not as positive as I would like. Scope tracks accurately and I love the 4-12 range magnification. Shooting at 100+ yards is easy with this scope and rifle combo. Getting about 1 inch groups with even bulk Winchester ammo. I would highly recommend this scope. It has hunter hold over reticle for big game rifles, but for a 22 LR the markings are 50 yards, 75 yards and 100 yards. Just about perfect.

Great Start needs repair
I have several sightron products. This is the first issue I've encountered. Same issue as previous reviewer mentioned the AO ring came loose and spins in place. Used this product for 2 years on a .308 and worked flawlessly despite the loose AO ring. On par with much better optics wrt clarity and holding zero. Recently the scope went dark. Can't see out of it at all. Looking in from the objective end you can see what looks like a lense turned sideways. Scope had not been dropped or bumped so curious as to what the problem is. Will send scope in for repair and hope they can fix it. Overall sightron makes great products for the money. I actually would recommend this product for plinking or bench shooting but would not rely on it for an important hunt. It was great while it functioned. Hope to get it back fixed and ready to go.
Pros:
- Clarity
- Hold zero
Cons:
- construction
Best Used for:
- plinking
- Practice shooting

Terrific Scope
I've shot Sightron for several years. FIrst bought one for my Savage 10ML II. It held up fine under the recoil of a 50 cal muzz. Now, this one is for my 308 Ruger. Great scope! Great buy from the Planet.

Best scope value today (by far)
Having had a great experience with Sightron products in their binocular line, I decided to give one of their riflescopes a try when I was looking to replace my Leupold 3-9x40 VX-2. I wanted brighter optics, a holdover reticle, and a little more power on the long end. This Sightron SI 4-12x40 AO with the HHR reticle is everything I was looking for. The optics blow my old VX2 out of the water. So far, it's held zero beautifully after 250+ rounds of .308. The holdovers at 2.5 and 5.5 MOA are perfect for my caliber, allowing me to zero at 200 and then hold on the first holdover crosshair at 300, and the second one at 400 yards. I was a bit hesitant to replace my Leupold VX-2 because of that scope's reputation for clarity and durability, but I think I made the right choice. I am beyond satisfied with this Sightron. I haven't seen any scope under $400 that can come close to it, so it was a steal at less than half that price. I'm buying another one for my next rifle.
Incidentally, I also purchased a Burris Droptine scope (on sale) at the same time as the Sightron, and it wasn't half the scope this one is. I returned it without hesitation and kept the Sightron.
Thanks Sightron for giving us a great optic at a more than fair price.

Sightron SI Hunter Scope
Excellent scope, for the money, not sure you can find anything that has as many features. I'm impressed, a good choice, I think it is overkill for my H&K G36 .22 Tactical rifle, but with it I can actually see the inside rings of the target (I had a red dot and the magnification was 1X, all I saw was the big round ball) now I can actually pick out the center for impact.
Pros:
- powerful
- Easy to use. Very clear optics
Cons:
- Not a thing
Best Used for:
- Not sure there is a limitation.

a nice surprise
Wanted an inexpensive scope to put on a .22 so my son could plink away and learn sight adjustment at different yardages. Got this because of the target turrets and AO capabilities. Turns out I got a whole lot more scope than I thought I was getting. Clicks on turrets are clean and crisp. Adjustments on scope are true: 20 clicks moved group exactly 5 inches at 100 yds, both vertically and horizontally, and return to zero was spot on. Eye relief is a little fussy, but that too is a learning tool about stock weld. View is clear. This scope may be the best secret out there!
Pros:
- Price
- crisp adjustments
- AO
Cons:
- eye relief

Great Scope
You can pay twice the money to get an equivilant Leopold or Nightforce scope. The glass is very clear with very little barrel distortion. Adjustment turrets make an audiable click and are easy to turn with repeatable adjustment.
Pros:
- great scope price level
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- hunting

SI 4-12x40 AO
Top quality scope as with all Sightron products. I have 2 Big Sky's and this is my second SI. The SI is a lot of scope for the money. If you are looking for a quality 4x12 scope in the mid price range, try this one. You will be well pleased. Also you get great service from Optics Planet and Sightron.

Pink trimmed Sightron scope
Bought this scope for my wife's Marlin 336. I know it's a little too much scope for the gun but my wife likes it and the picture is clear and adjustment is simple. I mounted it to the gun and took her to the range with me. Of course with that much scope on the gun she wanted t start right out at 100 yards. I took two adjustment shots and put the 3rd right in the bullseye. Style and function this scope gets a thumbs up from me.
