Most Helpful Positive Review Scope is actually better than some military scopes I have used on my m14
I can't believe that people are giving this scope a bad review. I am prier service active army with certificate as an honor graduate of the long range marksmanship course. I recently bought a savage 110 .243, and this scope came on it. I zeroed it(not bore-sighted it)and had groups at 350yards of a ...

Most Helpful Negative Review Works, but not what I expected...
Survived getting sighted in on my .444 Handi-Rifle. The lack of auto-focus surprised me and the location and effects of the 'fast focus' has ruined some of my plans for the scope. Also, the unit that I received did not have "rubberized" anything, so maybe they shipped me last year's model? I'm di...

Simmons 510513 Blazer 3-9x40mm Riflescope

by Walmart Purchaser, from KY, United States Written on August 18, 2020
Nice looking scope. Unfortunately, It cannot be used until I purchase rings. Purchased from Walmart.com where OP sells scopes, the pictures on Walmart shows rings but they are NOT included. Walmart price is also higher than OP. Buy direct from OP not Walmart, and do not forget the scope rings!!

Great value scope

by Jaspie, from NY, United States Written on July 7, 2020
I have had the Simmons Blazer 3-9x50 for 11 years. I’ve had it mounted on a .223, a 50cal muzzleloader and now my .22lr. It has always held zero fine. It has a crisp picture and very good eye relief. Only four stars because it could be brighter in low light conditions.

You get what you pay for

by kevinw, from WI, United States Written on December 20, 2014
Had this on a Savage 10 / 22-250. Got it sighted in okay, but after 20 rounds is started to creep upward. Asjustes it down, nothing moved, then it dropped to the bottom. Never got it back up again, and by then it had crept right to left. After another 8 rounds, it was no longer on the paper, regardless of repeated attempts to bore sight and re-align. May be okay on a 22LR, but appears to fall apart on anything with a recoil.

Good Scope for the Money

by wvgunslinger, from WV, United States Written on September 1, 2014
I put this scope on my savage model 93 22 magnum. It has a pretty clear field of view. The cross hairs are crisp and clear. It was easily adjusted when sighting in. I plan to use it for squirrel season this year.

Simmons Blazer scope

by Legacy Reviewer, from AL, United States Written on December 11, 2013
This scope was already mounted on a Savage Mod 11 in .308 cal I bought. I zeroed it at 100 yds, it is dead on. It wan fairly easy to zero from a shooting rest. The scope seems to allow ample light in during low light situations and the crosshairs are easily visible. I am really satisfied with it considering it is not a very expensive scope.
Pros: Better than average optics for the dollar.

Saving it for a more appropriate rifle.

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on April 6, 2013
I'm not going to bash the scope, but don't put it on a .300 win mag. It came with mine, probably because not a lot of budget scopes will fit the long action. I'll save it for a 10/22 or something, it's not a bad scope. It just doesn't belong on a .300 win mag.
Pros: Fits my long action. A lot of nicer scopes don't have a long enough tube to be mounted on my rifle.
Cons: Fits a long action, can not handle the recoil. Use it on smaller rifles.

Simmons 3-9x40

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on March 8, 2013
Very happy with this economy scope. Installed on 10/22 and definately gets the job done. I will probably get one more for a 22LR bolt action rifle I just ordered. Optics Planet provided great price and speedy delivery.
Pros: Price
Cons: none at this level

WIDeer Hunter

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on January 24, 2013
I bought this scope about 6 years ago on sale for $35 thinking if it went to crap I wasn't out that much. Mounted it on a Mossberg 835 slug barrel and it shot so well I went back the next week to get one for my wife's Mossberg 500. The scope later got moved from her gun to a Savage .243 and continued to perform flawlessly.

I paid over $200 for a Nikon SlugHunter with a BDC reticle to put on a different gun and have since sold that gun with the high dollar Nikon. The same Mossberg with the $35 Simmons has never failed to drop a deer. Not to discredit Nikon because I still have guns that use the ProStaff scopes but I am on this site now buying two more scopes, one for a gift and one for another gun I just bought.

The only issue I ever had with it was occassionally fogging up but it wasn't anything a quick swipe of a shirt sleave couldn't fix.
Pros: PRICE and CONSISTENCY
Cons: Occasionally fogs up
