SiOnyx Opsin Digital 1x19mm Night Vision Ultra Monocular
Hopefully this review answers alot of questions for people on the fence about this. I was military for 5.5 years and ran mono and bino gogs and I was a night systems instructor.
Can you see at night? Yes you can, bottom line. The full color is honestly incredible, its like naked eye at dusk. There's also some cool features like black and white filter and zoom functions but i will say the zoom gets gross and grainy. It is weapon mountable but the external battery is the only source if power so i dont know who is willing to duct tape that battery pack to a rifle.
For the price, this th...

I got this digital night vision optic for a couple reasons. One being because I was excited to see where digital optics were going technologically. Secondly because I didn't want to spend double the price for military grade NVGs. All in all, these don't disappoint. There are a lot of people who will talk down on this type of equipment. But if you use it for what it's intended for its amazing. It's obviously not military grade, but you obviously know that if you're purchasing this as opposed to military grade NVGs. Overall I recommend them and would honestly buy then again.

I use night vision cameras for video recording. I use thermal and digital. I do not use analog though I have owned gen 1 before. I think this is about the best digital you can get for this price range. This item is meant for a headset, and I am using it on a tripod which it does not adapt to very well, I had to hang it upside down like a helmet mount because it has no option to flip the display. My thermal is a scope meant for a gun that I use on a tripod or as a monocular and it adapts to using it not as intended a little bit better. This Opsin is great in moonlight, but thermal or expensive analog like gen2+ and higher are stronger when there is almost no light. It appears the priority battery pack contains 4 18650 batteries in parallel, it would of been nice if they would allow users to replace the batteries in the pack and would make the unit both cheaper and easier to service if this battery pack ever goes bad. I am very glad the unit does not have built in internal battery, which would make it even more problematic if the battery ever goes bad.
