Updated scope version of a Classic Colt M-16/AR-15 scope from years ago.
Since I assembled AR-15s with carry handle uppers. This scope fits perfectly just as the originals did. Clear glass with mil-dot reticle just like the originals, with the added benefit of red or green lite reticle. I'm very pleased with the two I purchased & would recommend them to anyone with a car...

Good Value, Questionable QC
I am pleased with the product I received in the end. The glass is very clear, easy to install and adjust, and having the option for dual-color illumination is a definite plus. There were, however, some points that anyone looking to invest in one of these scopes should keep in mind, and a personal an...

4x20 Grunt carry handle scope
I just finished zeroing the scope on my new Colt AR15 A4. I like the way it hit at 50 and 100yrds with Frontier 5.56 NATO BTHB MATCH. For the price compared to the Colt reissue at over $350.00, the Grunt held its own for a great price. I don't have local access to 200 to 500 yrd ranges so I can't comment on that yet. The scope was way off Vertically and Horizontally on first shot at 50 yards. But I got it on center with about 10 rounds. After that at 100yrds I had to do a little horizontal adjustment. Bamm great group of 20 rounds. If you want a great looking AR carry handle scope this is it!!
Pros:
- Mounted firmly after tightening. Held it's zero after firing
Cons:
- The mounting bolt wasn't tight and fell out of the mount. Get that one bolt back in that hole was easy. Had to do some McGyver stuff to get it in.
Best Used for:
- Fun little scope
Would recommend: Yes
Great quality
Came out of the box 2 foot right and low, at 100yds, but was able to sight it in quickly and put it to use on the farm. Solid product so far

Seems like a solid piece of hardware
I bought it as more of a novelty for one of my older A2 style AR15s. I didn’t expect much but it seems like a solid optic. I wasn’t spending 400+ on a colt version of these bc by the nature of it, it’s not for hard tactical use even if you have the colt version. It’s a blast from the past and has a fun factor in my opinion. For the money it’s well worth it.
Pros:
- Solid build
Cons:
- Eye Releif
Best Used for:
- range & target shooting
- Novelty / Not Serious Rifle Platform
Would recommend: Yes
Product arrived quickly.
Shipping to Indiana took 3 days from start to finish. That’s way better than most of their competitors that I’ve used a million times. I can’t really rate them up stars or down stars for the product itself. It is what it is. A2 style carry handle mounted optic. It’s a decent quality colt optic clone. I usually don’t go cheap with scopes but this is more of a curiosity to me than anything. I’m not paying the 400$+ premium price for a pretty lame 4 x 20 optic. This seems well built and should do the job. Time will tell but regardless, optics planet did their job well and shipped with care, quickly.
Pros:
- fast shipping
Cons:
- None

Sniper Grunt 4x20 Compact Rifle Scope w/AR Carry Handle Mount: A Budget-Friendly Nod to Vintage Opti
Right out of the box, the scope feels sturdy for its price point. The 1-inch tube is lightweight (about 10 ounces with the mount), and the included AR carry handle mount is a highlight—it's a quick-detach setup that clamps down rock-solid on standard A2-style handles with no wobble. No need for extra risers or adapters unless you're running a flat-top rail. It comes with flip-up lens covers that are surprisingly durable and spring-loaded for easy access, plus a duplex mil-dot reticle that's etched clearly and illuminated in red or green (battery-powered, CR2032 included). The illumination is basic but effective in low light for quick target acquisition at 50–200 yards.
The fixed 4x magnification strikes a nice balance for close-to-mid-range shooting—enough zoom for precision without the tunnel vision of higher powers. Adjustments for windage and elevation are tactile with audible clicks, and zeroing was straightforward; I got it dialed in with about 20 rounds at 50 yards using Federal 55-grain FMJ.
Performance in the Field
Optically, the glass is surprisingly clear for a budget optic. Colors pop, and there's minimal distortion at the edges, making it great for steel plates or paper targets. I ran a couple hundred rounds through my build (5.56 NATO), and it held zero like a champ—no shifting after a few mag dumps. The mil-dot reticle works well for holdovers, and the illumination helps in shaded woods or dawn patrols. If you're into airsoft or replica builds, it'll nail tha...

I do recommend but some have issues
I purchased this sniper grunt carry handle scope because I purchased one just like it while on vacation and it is perfect and hold zero well. The one I purchased through optics planet looks good but will not hold zero, the more you shoot it the more it walks to the left. I tried it on a second rifle with the same results. It is in no way or form optics planet fault in this matter but the manufacturer who made it. I have not contacted optics planet yet to talk to them about the issue but they are a stand up company and I know they will correct the issue. Normally this is a very good optic but sometimes you get a bad one. Thank you
Pros:
- Very ckear and compact, illuminated retic
- Very good scope all around
Cons:
- None with most
Best Used for:
- many uses

4x20 Carry handle Mount Rifle Scope
Just what I was looking for, a simple affordable optic that is a good match for my AR. Easy to mount and has good clear glass. I also like that the iron sights are still useable with the scope mounted.

Giant logo on the side
What the pictures don’t show is a giant white logo on the left side that is laser etched. Extremely disappointed and completely takes away from the retro look.

Works great, holds zero
This works really well. I mean it's better than the original ones and looks just like them. It holds zero really well, glass is clear, has as good if not better eye relief than the original ones from 20+ years ago. I mean, yeah it's not like modern scopes eye relief but you have to realize this is based on older technology and as far as it goes I think they've done about the best job that you can with it plus, it's illuminated. I have no complaints. It's perfect for your retro build.

a decent entry level optics
I was pretty happy with this optics. Was not expensive, illuminated red/green and magnified. Great bang for buck. 10 times better than the utg it replaced.
The only thing i didn't like were the lense covers. They were not designed very well and did not fit tightly. They often came off when i tried to open the covers. I wrapped the ends of the scope with a layer of electric tape for a tighter fit but it still doesnt hold tight. Probably will just end up taking them off as they arent really useful.
