This knife has it all: great steel, great edge, great edge retention, great length, great blade geometry and tip, great overall weight and feel, great handle, great sheath. This SOF vet HIGHLY recommends this knife. Great price too, here at Optics Planet. If you want a great little fighting blade.. this one hits the mark.

I've had many sog knives in the past and this is the best yet. I have a ranch and the daily routine of chores and feeding puts any knife to the test. I've gone 2 weeks with the Pillar CPMS35VN steel blade and touched it up once on a steel, just a couple of strokes to refresh the keen edge. Cutting rope, slicing feed bags and wacking small brush and branches out of the trail are all a breeze and don't seem to dull the blade. I carry the knife in another sheath which is leather as it is more comfortable for riding horses and atv's. The Kydex supplied sheath is first class and adjustable with a solid "click" snapping the knife into place for minimal risk of loss. My hands are on the small side so the handle is a perfect fit but bigger hands may want a little more substance to grip as the handle tends to be flatter as opposed to round. Sog is a local company here in the area and I have been there several times to look at their products once having a bladesmith assist me and giving my FlashII a sharpening while I waited no charge just because he wanted to. I love the fact this knife is made in the USA. All in all this knife is a home run. Good job Sog with Made In The USA.
