Amazingly effective in reducing sounds. Simple controls. On/off. Up/down volume. I wore mine combined with inner ear plugs for 2 layer hearing protection. Many folks do this. The Sordin's themselves are good, they are better than my Walker Razors, and they should be considering the cost. The sound quality is good but not amazing. Perfect Headset for Range Safety Officers
I bought these specifically because of the -31db attenuation rating. I work as an RSO at a shooting range in Florida. When people are shooting their rifles, it gets loud, and my ears start ringing at night. I cannot wear foamies in one ear since we have to also wear a headpiece. These resolved both problems. The loud sounds are extremely reduced, and I don't have to wear an earpiece since these are comms-ready, so I just plug the cable straight to the headphones. A Win-WIN.
