Most Helpful Positive Review Good Spring, but Still has AR Twang
I bought this at the advice of a friend who told me it reduced his AR “twang” only to find that it acts much like my others (Stag and Noveske) do. A little lubricant helps, but if you want silence the Armaspec or JP are your answers. I guess I’ll have a backup spring once I upgrade to a true silent spring. The spring was used in an 8.5” 300AAC pistol build with a 3.8oz buffer and full mass SRC bolt. I have ran a decent amount out of it from 110-220gr loads and reliability has been 100%.

You would think that all springs are the same but I can tell a big difference in the quality level of this spring vs others. The price is right as well and Optics planet is great to purchase from

Spikes 17-7 Buffer Spring

Excellent drop in upgrade to any AR platform. Mitigates felt recoil and allows for fast threat acquisition and follow through if necessary. The Spikes Buffer Spring is affordable and I now run them in all of my AR platforms. Combined with the T2 Heavy Buffer, I would highly recommend this upgrade for tactical use.

If you think all springs are pretty much the same, get your hands on one of these. I really don't know if it will work any better than the one than is always shipped with a kit but it sure does feel different .

Great product!

Great spring with noticeably smoother operation compared to a cheaper one. This item with the spikes buffer lessened the recoil and pulling the charging handle was a lot smoother. I definitely recommend this to anyone building an AR.

Smooth as silk!

My AR15 had the typical “fork ran across a cheese grater” sound! Once I swapped out my buffer and buffer spring, both are Spike Tactical, the rough sounding sounds were gone. Now when I drop the bolt, it’s a much cleaner sound. I am beyond pleased with my purchase and will be buying Spike Tactical springs and buffer for all of my future builds. Thank you Optics Planet!
