Fit and finish are excellent on this Spikes 18” SPR barrel.Gassing is good with no failures/last round hold open issues while using a standard weight BCG(Spikes Tactical Nickel Boron BCG,) Spikes Tactical Stainless 3 Port Brake(because California,) A2 rifle buffer system, and P-mags,It’s the most pleasant AR to shoot.I haven’t had the time or care to run quality ammo through it yet to see how tight it can shoot.I have however shot the cheapest 55 grain to 62 grain from different manufacturers i could find and it still shoots tight groups-2” ish if I had to guess which suits my current needs. Its on a build with a 1-10x LPVO,15” handguard, detachible bi-pod,fixed stock, detachable sling ect. It’s a,Dare I say it…recce style build.I built it for the wife as her primary range gun so weight overall was a concern just in case she needs to ruc this thing. The build came out better than expected and I want to Indian give it backsies. In all seriousness,I was looking to put together a build inspired by the MK 12 while being weight conscious(medium profile barrel,)durable/long service life(cold hammer forged,)consistent medium range capabilities with off the shelf cheap ammo, and lastly great looks. This was achieved using this barrel,I couldn’t be happier with my purchase,Thank you OP!
Pros:
- Cold hammer forged
- great looking barrel finish

After significant testing with factory match and hand loaded ammunition, the barrel would not perform as expected - the best it did was ~2" at 100yd, with most 5-shot groups exceeding that by a significant amount (3-4"). The tech at Spikes was helpful, but this barrel is a lemon...a large waste of money and time.

I've had this barrel now for the better part of a year and can say it's held up really well.
I've been putting 77gr. HPBT and 69gr. .223 Rem. rounds through it and I managed to get a 1 MOA group in testing. Make no mistake though, it shoots perfectly well with M193 and M855 cartridges as well. It was super easy to install too, just like every other barrel. The nitride finish is holding up well too. Overall, It's great value for the money and I highly recommend to anyone looking to use this on their Mk.12 clone build or any precision shooting AR!
Pros:
- Easy to install
- Precision
- accuarcy
Best Used for:
- Precision / long range
- heavier weight .223/ 5.56mm bullets

I wanted to build a tak driver and this barrel does exactly that. The fitment into my upper receiver was perfect and OP got it to me in a very timely manner. I didnt have to use any shims for the barrel or muzzle break and the gas system fitment was perfect.
