Most Helpful Positive Review S(uperlatove Arms)pike's gas block helps fine tune those finniky setups
After I purchased one of these adjustable gas blocks, I decided they are required on all of my AR platform rifles. They adjust with ease, fit well and even have an option for a dimpled barrel, which I prefer over the clamp on design. They do cost a bit more than your standard gas block, but the rang...

Most Helpful Negative Review Buy the gas block from Superlative Arms on Opticsplanet.com instead
Spikes tactical sends this gas block out without the most important part, the gas adjustment tool. Pure garbage. This gas block is made by Superlative Arms. You can find it on Opticsplanet.com. Superlative Arms sends it out with the gas tube pin and adjustment tool. All included for less than the Sp...

Read about these before considering one.

I had my gunsmith build my new rifle. After he finished it for me i went to the range. My weapon would not cycle no matter how I adjusted this thing. I took it back to my gunsmith and he confirmed that it was junk. Read on AR-15.com and you will be hard pressed to find anyone that didn’t have the same issues as I did.

Smooth, clean, crisp and no play in pull.

by Kevin, from OR, United States Written on September 20, 2022
Literally just installed it and from what I can tell by dry firing it....it's smooth. Clean break, no wiggle in the housing, no play in trigger pull and a nice audible "click" on resets. I'm buying another one right now.

Serves its purpose!

by Ghosty, Verified Owner from ME, United States Written on August 10, 2022
Adjustable gas blocks are a must when running suppressed. Spikes can be hit or miss but this one is a hit. Would definitely buy again for a future build. Everything it says it does, it does. I feel like they could do better on the price though.

Well constructed gas block

by Steve, from FL, United States Written on September 15, 2021
What can I say, it works quite well, allowing me to alter the gas flow for various loads and suppressed use. Easy to adjust, and quite diminutive; it fit easily under the magpul forend stock. Easy to get to as well, and the supplied hex wrench is long enough so as to not conflict with the barrel during adjustments. Instructions were easy to follow.
Pros:
  • Size, ease of use, well constructed.
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Any rifle in which you may need to adjust the gas flow.

Ratchet screw

by kris, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on August 16, 2021
So the weird piece sticking out the front is a ball bearing and spring that ratchets the set screw and holds it in place. very nice design. .............................................................

Great Adjustable GB

by Tim Houck, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on May 24, 2020
Been using these on a few builds and have always had good luck with them. Nice snug fit over the barrel. Positive click for each adjustment is a nice feature and makes it easier to keep track of your adjustments. Highly recommend.

It is, it it isn’t a superlative!

by Marlon, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on February 27, 2020
i baught it because I couldn’t find a superlative arms gas block. The destiny isn’t as active as my superlative arms gas block. And it seams kinda cheap. It could be because this is a .625 and my superlative gas block is a .75
Pros:
  • nice
Cons:
  • Kinda loose
Best Used for:
  • AR15

must have for any ar plat9

by Gabe, Verified Owner from GA, United States Written on February 21, 2020
To give credit, this is designed by superlative arms with spikes logo stamped on it. That said, it's the best adjustable gas block out there. It vents any excess pressure beyond what you set it at. I run this on a 7" barrel ar15 with and without a suppressor with no adjustment of the gas block. I run this on a 18" ar10 with and without a can with no needed adjustments. Set it and forget it.

Easy to Install and Adjust

by Nick, Verified Owner from AL, United States Written on February 15, 2020
It was easy to install the Spikes Tactical Adjustable Gas Block. It is the exact same product as Superlative, except the Spikes Tactical Logo. The installation was easy. My barrel came with one dimple and I added the second one by tightening the first set screw down on the dimple and transferring the second drill point using the second tapped hole in gas block. Follow the directions and you will have your rifle’s gas system optimized after a few rounds. The adjustment screw has clicks you can feel. After winding the screw out 4-1/2 CCW turns I started turning the screw CW until the rifle failed and to eject. Then one click CCW and it cycled. Fully gassed, it was ejecting almost 1 o’clock. After adjustment, it ejected about 3 o’clock. I was able to reach through hole in my hand guard and make adjustments without taking the hand guard off. The key is to use the a hex key a ball type end. Very satisfied with this product in regards to the fit, finish and function.
Pros:
  • Fit, finish and function are great
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • AR-15 Pattern Rifles
