— 4 reviews — Page 1
Have had a pair of ghost stryke II plugs for almost 1yr now. Have not noticed any wind noise transmitted in low-mid wind environments. While talking and shooting The shot noise is reduced in the background but the conversation and noise in the immediate direction is not reduced. I don't seem to use ...

The sound quality is horrible. The WHISTLE/FEEDBACK CANCELLATION feature...fail. Also, the foam ear tips are one-time installation only. If you want to try a different tip, removing the tip is impossible without destroying it and then you will need to cut off the inner core with a razor. The directions tell you to choose the proper tip for hearing protection but you cannot do so without simply guessing. Very disappointing for such an expensive product. Save your money...do not buy these.
Pros:
None
Cons:
Expensive
Poor sound quality

These turned out to be pretty disappointing - not what I was expecting and hoping for. The circuitry simply cuts off loud sounds from being transmitted through the plugs to your ear. There is no apparent modulation so the sound is reduced based on the loudness - it seems to be all or nothing. This is rather disconcerting since they perform independently such that one ear will go "dead" while the other still transmits sounds and vice versa. And the sound cutoff is very intermittent depending on the ambient noise. One ear will remain "on" while the other is going on...off...on/off/on/off.......on........off/on/off..on...off... etc and vice versa. A simple slight turn of your head will cause one or the other to go off or come back on. And yes, they really do pick up and transmit wind noise into one ear or the other. So they have been returned.
My Pro Ears earmuffs with sound cancellation circuitry work much better. They just interfere with a proper cheek weld on rifle stocks, which is what I bought the Ghost Strykes for. I'll go back to simple foam plugs for rifle shooting.
Pros:
None
Cons:
All-or-nothing sound transmission
Pick up wind noise and it is loud!
