Most Helpful Positive Review Napier Truck Tent
Very easy to put up. Thin material but seems well made. Had one issue with one of the rain gaurd buckles as it would not unsnap. The buckle was inserted a little crooked and it took a screw driver and a pair of pliers to unclip it. The head room is great inside the tent. Overall pleased.

OpticsPlanet pulled through!!!!

by SurfDon, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on September 2, 2020
I ordered this exact item from Amazon. It shipped but somehow Amazon lost it during transit. Amazon could not fulfill another order being that this is a hot commodity these days. Not only that but the price went up to $289 on Amazon a few days later when they were back in stock. The bummer was that I had a camp trip planned at the end of August. I figured I was out of luck. I happened to see that OpticsPlanet was selling the exact item I needed and at the original $179 price tag. I pulled the trigger and crossed my fingers in hopes it would arrive in time for my camp trip. Sure enough, OpticsPlanet pulled through and my tent made it in time. I had a great camp trip and enjoyed the Napier BackRoadz tent. Perfect fit. It was a little challenging setting up at night with a handheld flashlight single person (misplaced my headlamp). I found it best to secure the base first to the tailgate then the sides and back of the bed before attaching tent poles. You could also build on the ground first and then add to the truck bed. Either way you do it, you want to secure it to the tail gate first as it wants to naturally fall that way. Otherwise, it can be a little tricky adding tent poles with the base not secure by yourself. The tent was very spacious. The materials and zippers are good quality. The best way to camp with a truck!
Pros:
  • Quality
  • Great fit
Cons:
  • None

Go Anywhere, Anytime

by ARA, from NV, United States Written on April 8, 2017
This product enables you to go anywhere you want regardless of the weather. Ever slept in a tent on the ground in rainy conditions? Miserable, isn't it? This tent keeps you high and dry. Comes with an interior mesh gear loft, mesh gear pocket, and hook for a tent light (none of which are mentioned in the description). Before you go, I recommend you erect this tent in your truck at home. A little practice goes a long way, and erecting it for the first time in the dark or in the wind would be challenging. Mine did NOT come with instructions, but I was able to print them out from Napier's home page.
Pros:
  • Handy
  • Versitile
Cons:
  • slightly unconventional setup
Best Used for:
  • Travel and Cross Country

nice little outfit

by bobgee, from TN, United States Written on October 15, 2014
well made , fits my truck perfectly. Easier to set up than I thought it would be. The only drawback is putting the rain fly on is difficult for one person because of the height. Next time I'll try to put it on before I raise it up.
