This is my first Spuhr scope mount and I really like it! The built in level, the fit and finish, it is perfection!
Pros:
- Quality, machining accuracy, anodizing is perfect. I even checked it with a 35mm turned, ground, and polished shaft and the concentricity was perfect.
Best Used for:
- Long range precision shooting.

This mount is great and comes with tool to hold scope true to your rail. Added rosin as recommended for bigger calibers and held tight on the 300PRC. It also has the level in the back, a little hard to see but does the job.
Pros:
- Holds tight and has built in level

Took me 10 minutes to install this mount and scope. The scope wedge is included in the mount package so no need to buy the separate wedge. Amazing quality product!! My scope is dead on level!! The 1.5 inch/38mm for my Leupold Mark 5HD 7-35 x 56 was the best option. My scope caps have some clearance. Added bonus, it looks badass!!
Pros:
- Accessories available
- Ease and fit
- Quality !!
Cons:
- Price (but honestly, pretty cheap price considering the quality).

Great mount ! Super solid and has secondary mounting options for external goodies. Locks up the scope nice and solid and doesn’t leave ring marks. And I love the level Just wish it was a tad bit bigger You scope won’t do the aggravating rotation while you’re tightening it up. Everything is very well made and well thought out without weighing a ton ! I have three of these now and won’t put anything else on my precision rifles.
Cons:
- Little spendy. But ya get what you pay for
Best Used for:
- Heavy use rifles or tactical rifles

I bought this for my Leupold Mark5 HD to put on my M82A1, there aren’t many 35mm mounts out there with 20 Moa but I would still choose this one over the others even if there are.
By the way a wedge key is included to help level your scope so no need to purchase extra. A built in bubble level is a nice touch.
I actually installed the 20 Moa mount backwards to counter the 27 Moa rail built in on the Barrett. Since there aren’t many places you can shoot 500+yards close to me. Combined with built in 27 Moa rail theoretically I can have either 7 Moa or 47 Moa depending the mount set up.
So far it’s working out well for me and I no longer have to aim with the top of my scope picture when I’m limited to close ranges. I’m happy with this product.

This review has two parts, Optics Planet customer service and Spuhr SP-5002 Mount. Ordered Thursday AM, shipped same day, arrived Friday!
Can't get any better than that. Now for the mount. If you're looking for a high quality ultra versatile mount, then this is it. Mounted a Leupold Mark 5HD 7-35 x 56 on a Remington 700 Tactical Chassis Rifle in 308. Just the right height (1.5") to allow room for slip on lens covers if you use them. The 700 TCR has a full rail, and the section on the action has 20 MOA built in. Leaves about .1" between bell and rail. These mounts are not cheap, but you do get what you pay for.

Very well built and with out a doubt the strongest mount I've ever used. with a foolproof leveling key as well as a built in level, definitely worth the extra cost. If you are looking for a robust and repeatable mount that want let you down, look no further spuhr(IMO)is the best there is.
Pros:
- Leveling key, built in level,45 deg ring caps, extra mounting surfaces.

Used this for Mark 5HD, 56mm obj. Flip cap on obj only clears if opened up, not down. Mount is solid. Additional attachment points everywhere. Incredible leveling method when mounting scope. Bubble for cant is easy visible and usable. Best mount if used. Most expensive mount if used.

This is a very simple but sturdy mount. It has the easiest method of leveling a scope and a built in bubble level. I’ve used or seen just about every type of scope mount and Spuhr are the best. You can remove it and reattach it with about a .1mil shift from original zero. It’s the only mount that I use on my competition rifles and deployment rifles.
