Most Helpful Positive Review Outstanding but one small disappointment
OK guys, I guess I'm one of the first to get a Yojumbo thanks to Optics Planet. BTW, their service was great. The knife is virtually flawless. I say "virtually" because the only disappointment I have is that it is not hair shaving sharp out of the box. The tip IS ridiculously sharp and WILL catch and cut anything it touches so be extra careful. I am very happy with the knife and it's certainly a keeper. I was just surprised it didn't come THAT sharp out of the box. I do have a strop with different compounds on it so I've been working on that for the past 20 minutes. Compared to my othe...

Sypderco YoJumbo

Beautifully made knife. Great grip to the scales. The scales won't tear your hands up, but it will not slide out of your hands. Razor sharp or of the box, as usual for Spyderco. The blade flips open with minimal effort and is easily closed with the top cross lock.

Spyderco Yojumbo

I had wanted this knife for a long time and finally bought it from OpticsPlanet as they were the only ones who weren't sold out and sell it at a lower price than other retailers. I have another wharncliffe knife similar to the Yojumbo but comparing them now is like night and day. The Yojumbo is lighter, sleeker, and built better. The compression lock is really nice too. Would definitely recommend this knife if you like Spyderco. Optics Planet customer service was great as well.

  • Higher quality blade steel
Cons:
  • A bit big for everyday carry although it really depends on personal preference
Best Used for:
  • Precision cutting, Self Defense

Sypderco Yojumbo is awesome!

This thing is pretty sweet. Big! It has super grippy scales and a great menacing look. I love it! I'm very happy I picked one up. The profile is large so of course comfort in the pocket may be a consideration to some but I don't mind it.
