Most Helpful Positive Review i paid $23 for my Stag L hand safety
I’m not a left hand shooter. I’m a righty and dig simple modular parts. I also live in Cali The one I got is a Left or Right 90 degree with a standard length lever. It does not get in the way when I use a B5 Systems P23 Grip (lever on right). The P23 lowers my right-shooting hand and clears my knuckle on the palm side. Badger Ordnance has one like this for almost 4 times the cost of a Stag dual side safety selector.

So simple it’s genius

by Beans, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on August 8, 2025
I have one and dig it the most of all the safety selectors I’ve had and have. I can appreciate good craftsmanship. I also appreciate good steel over alloys but in 90 degrees only. My L or R Stag safety follows me from rifle to rifle but lives on my test lower. I’d like one in my rifle bag and one in the parts kit. Demand is high and cost remains low. Availability? Unknown. Stag nailed the “good for everyone” true ambidextrous safety. The simplicity is’ genius. From Mil-Spec purist, beginner, seasoned builder, tester you name it. Stag checked all the boxes and more. It came at great a value. 30$ but 22$ after discounts on OP.
Badger Ordnance gen1 switchable goes for around 100$.
Ya, I could’ve saved a lot of money but only found recently and on back order. Anyway, here’s the list of other safety selectors I have although I won’t mention the screw on varietal. Radian talon (I run the L- side only/ fn featureless!), Geissele configurable (no beveled edges for the $$), Badger Ordnance switchable gen1 (too long), SOL/ FCD Q lever OEM- LWRC- That’s a solid ambi for the 80$.),
Stag Arms LorR safety rocks. Solid- affordable and does it all.
Would recommend: Yes

Just what the doctor ordered!

by madmike, Verified Owner from LA, United States Written on August 22, 2024
As a lefty, I hate the AR safety in the Fire position rubbing my trigger finger. This is the solution! FYI, it is not advertised as such but it appears to be a reversable safety. It has a detent groove machined into both sides of the selector.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:

Lefthanded safety selector

by Hillclimber, Verified Owner from AK, United States Written on August 16, 2024
I use this on all my builds because I am lefthanded and don't want an ambidextrous safety selector. Though it should be noted that this safety selector can be assembled for left or righthanded use as it has detent channels cut on both sides.

Best design ever

by Daryl, from TX, United States Written on November 7, 2023
This selector can be installed for lefties or righties. I wish they were all made this way. Detent groves and stops are milled on both sides of the bearing surfaces. You can change your configuration, if needed, at any time.
Pros:
  • Flexible installation choice
Cons:
  • none that i can see

Exactly what us southpaw need

by Pigslayer, from CO, United States Written on June 23, 2023
I have left side charging on an ar10 and an ar15, so a lefty safety is a must. I Put 1 on my ar10 and 1 on my ar15. Works perfect for both. No more having to force lefties to use right handed equipment.
