Most Helpful Positive Review Incredible
I bought this after lengthy research into Steiner and other tier 1 optics (Hensoldt, S&B, Zeiss, Kahles, USoptic) after months of considerations, I opted for this optic. I have other optics ($200-$1200), Nikon, Bushnell, Burris, Leupold, Weaver, Redfield, Vortex and Zeiss...etc but this superior to my eyes and I am certain the erector assembly tracks true from top to bottom, left-right and back again...always returning exactly to where you dial it. I have been able to compare it directly to a friend's S&B PM2 5-25x and I could not appreciate any difference in brightness or clarity throughout...

So well made

This was a hard pill to swallow. For good glass your going to pay for it. But once it came to my house and I held it. I understood. No corner were cut to engineer this scope. You want good clear, clean and well built. This scope is worth every dollar spent.
Pros:

  • Engineered for quality and durability

A contender among the high end long range scopes

Not the scope for the faint hearted given its price tag but it delivers what one would expect from a long range scope. First impression out of the box "my God that's a beast" I bought this for my Ruger precision rifle 6.5mm creedmoor. Tourets have a great feel positive feel and sound with each tic. The optics are very clear and crisp with generous light from the wide 56mm apapature; I'm now waiting on delivery of the sunshade to reduce some of that brightness. I mounted it with a spuhr 34mm with no rise that was a real debate as some recommended some rise in the mount. I'll be shooting for awhile at 200-300yrd (barely stretching her legs) until I move out west to longer ranges at that time I'll likely zero the scope at 300yrds and Im sure I can push the scope easily to the limits of the blastics.

Amazing Scope & Wonderful Service at OpticsPlanet!

It's really simple, I cannot bring myself to do business with any other firm regarding high end optics, except OpticsPlanet. Wonderful service. Period. Regarding the Steiner M5Xi with a Horus Tremor 3, forget everyone else, nothing like it, nothing compares. The closest, a Schmidt & Bender PMII, and as good as the glass was on the S&B, the build quality was not even in the same Universe with the M5Xi. The warranty alone at Steiner is Generational, it's a Heritage Warranty. So there you have it...for my TRG 42 in 338 Lapua, it's a magical combination.���

Excellent Long Tange Scope

This scope feels extremely robust. The knobs are very tactile. Everything about this scope is top quality. OpticsPlanet had the best deal on this scope. I am very happy with this scope, can't wait to mount it onto my 338 LM rifle.

Steiner Military M5Xi Rifle Scope

I went through extensive research to buy the scope I did buy. All the scopes were in and around the same price range. They all had high quality features but I choose Steiner because of the features and the type of shooting I do. The scope is definitely of military grade, high glass quality and mil precision. More than enough windage left/right. The illumination intensity goes from low to very bright great for dark light shooting.
I had to narrow my choice down between three contenders and Steiner won out. I hope this helps you make your own decision.

  • High Quality. Very Sturdy.
  • glass is clear and sharp
  • Precise reticle
Cons:
  • cost alot
  • turret after zeroing won't go back to 26mils.
  • You have to use a 30-45moa mount
