Most Helpful Positive Review Recommended IF......
I own the entire line of T5xi optics minus the new MOA offerings. 4 total. For whatever reason, my 5-25x56 has better glass than my 3-15x56. I only bring this up because there could be some variances in glass clarity from scope to scope. I've noticed that when i read reviews, most people rave about Steiner's clarity but you'll get a few that say the T5xi line isn't that great of glass. I only think i've seen two people say that about this line in all the reviews i've read on many different sites. All that being said, the glass on these is pretty dang good.... meaning somewhere between good...

its good to very good.

by butch stobe, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on January 8, 2022
Good, mounted on Desert Tech MDRX in 6.5 Creedmore made a solid combination on American Defense cam lock rings. Quick swap for thermal if necessary otherwise would have went solids. Here’s what I see (everyone has there own eyes right)Glass is a 10 .reticle pops. Illuminated reticle a 10. Magnification matches the caliber capability that’s my opinion , you have your own. I like the turret knob indicator I don’t have the memory to remember a double twist when theres a monster shooter in the glass so it helps when you are in a pinch. Under your own mental pressure it helps, everyone has forgot how to get back to 0 who uses the the clicker. This isn’t my first Steiner. Experience brought me back. Nightforce ,Steiner Schmidt and are on all my long range grab n go rifles, i use them Equally for hard hunting and steel at distance. There’s better , i get that. If these were in Nam McNamera would have had better numbers. For your dollars to spend enough said and only to square the reader away and selfishly for my next discount coupon.
Hopefully I get a passing grade on this essay.

SIX STARS!

by Samuel Moon, from AR, United States Written on January 15, 2020
I own several Steiner optics; an older M5, a P4xi 4-16x56, and two T5xi’s, one in 5-25x56, and this model, the 3-15x50...amongst other tier 1 & 2 riflescopes. This model has proven tough as nails, tracks reliably after a few thousand firing solutions (currently atop a Savage .338LM). Best turrets in the business in my opinion. It’s compact, heavy (a good thing), fantastic glass and light transmission, the illumination is usable in any situation, the Steiner SCR reticle works intuitively. Each of my T5’s end up with 23.1 mils of elevation with a 100 meter zero. I love the 5-25 model, which I purchased first, but the overall length and size is much larger than the 3-15 model. I will purchase another 3-15 for my current rifle build... dang hard to beat at the &2K price point.

Steiner 3-15x50 SCR-MOA

by Curt, from VA, United States Written on May 3, 2019
Super nice Scope, very bright and clear glass. The illumination on the reticle is not as bright as others but all in all a great scope for the money. The dial works well and the clicks are great on the elevation and windage. I would recommend and buy it again.

Awesome scope for the value

by Ace, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on September 9, 2018
Great scope - 30oz. 13”. Illuminated and a great value. Compared with Mark 5 and 1k cheaper for same options. Overall happy with value and quality. Would like to see a lighter version in the future with a shorter tube for ease of carry on the field.
Pros:
  • Price
Cons:
  • Heavy
Best Used for:
  • AR10

Tier 1 Product

by Savage260, from IN, United States Written on July 25, 2018
A very mechanically sound optical instrument! The turrets are crisp, precise and audible. There is no ‘mush’ in elevation and/or windage adjustments. The glass is very clear and the parallax is spot on. Additionally, the SCR reticle has .1 mil markings which makes precise adjustments at long range that much easier to attain. The return-to-zero feature is great—especially being able to pass zero by .3 mils. Having the turrets self increment is a joy to have at the range as you will never lose track of your mil settings. The illumination of the reticle is excellently well thought out and crafted. It’s great to have an off setting between each intensity setting. I would definitely recommend to anyone serious about LRP shooting.
Best Used for:
  • Long range precision

What a fantastic optic!

by BiggDaddy, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on June 27, 2018
EASILY my favorite optic I have; clear glass, clean reticle, rugged and RELIABLE! I've put a couple thousand rounds through my SCAR 17 with this bad boy attached after having "killed" the last optic. (I sent my last optic in for repair after the recoil was causing the battery to lose contact, so I'm not 100% sure it was from the rifle or a faulty optic.) I've been able to take it out to 1000 yards with ease... assuming I do my part... and no issues whatsoever!

I use at ranges I do with my ACOG and out. It's not the lightest optic in the world, but with a 34mm tube, it looks and performs up there with some of my optics that cost me twice as much. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Pros:
  • glass clear and bright
  • Magnification and versitility
Cons:
  • weight
Best Used for:
  • Long range shooting
  • SCAR 17

Great build quality & feature set for the price. CA could be better.

by Onlylongrange, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on May 1, 2018
Essentially unbeatable feature set with the included accessories for the going discounted street price for German glass.
Build quality is top tier.
Tank like without razor weight.
great eye box but sensitive CA.
great reticle (SCR-MOA).
No issues with tracking with this version.

Minus 1 star for chromatic aberration. In that regards, I feel the CA on my hd vortex's are way better controlled. Does not hang with top tier glass imho but good for the price.
Pros:
  • features
  • reticle
  • Build
  • Covers
  • switch handle
  • click feel
Cons:
  • chromatic aberration
Best Used for:
  • Tactical
  • lrp

Fantastic Scope for the price!

by ChrisK, Verified Owner from WA, United States Written on April 27, 2018
All the features and great quality! I feel I got a great deal on a scope that was already a great value. I picked up a "Demo" scope and it I can't find any issues with it. There are so many features I love and it has great glass. Spinning the Turret it has 12 Mils per rotation, but after a full rotation it shows 13 mils rather than going back to zero!. I like the fact that it goes 3 clicks beyond the zero stop, when returning to zero, this allows me to setup for additional loads rather than doing a hold over. Illumination turns off on the half clicks so you can set your illumination preference easily. It comes with scope covers a thumb adjustment ring. The earlier versions of these scopes had tracking issues, but there are youtube videos out there that show that has been resolved in the newer generations and they track great! I've been using this on my MDR and couldn't be happier with my optics choice.
Pros:
  • Clarity
  • Quality
  • zero stop
  • 34mm tube
  • 1st focal plane
  • Positive clicks
  • shows correct Mils beyond full rotation
  • Tracks well
  • Usefull Magnification range
Cons:
  • None

I really like, but..........

by Rider, from PA, United States Written on April 26, 2018
So, first let me talk about the Steiner T5xi 3-15...wow it is clear...and very bright. Solid built, turrets are very well made and take a lot to accidentally move. I have seen many comments and I do believe the glass is German, not Burris glass. It is made in the USA, but German glass. I have looked at this at 100, 200, 300 and extreme distance...it has been the clearest out of anything I have compared it to.
Now, the but......I have compared this to Sig Sauer Tango 6 3-18, Burris XTR ii 3-15 and to a limited extent Nightforce NXS. I think it beats all of these in clarity...yes even NXS, BUT that was very very close and only compared that at 200 yds once.....I think the T5xi beats the Tango 6 by a good bit. the burris XTR ii was the closest competition for the Steiner. It is not as clear nor not quite as bright as the Steiner....now the BUT....but is it worth $400 more (if you find it on sale) maybe??? maybe not....if you are paying $1900 for this then I definitely say no, not worth the additional money compared to the Burris...when i say the difference in clariy, I will try to use this as an example....at 200 yds, using a full body silhouette i can read the full size numbers on it.....the Burris a little blurry, Sig, somewhat blurry....so again is that difference worth $400 for you????
So yes I really like this scope...but I am debating if it is worth the additional money....
Pros:
  • Durability
  • Brightness
  • Clairity
Cons:
  • price
  • much better than Burris? IDK
