All MLOK everywhere.
Long 15” handguard that is also lightweight with lots of real estate for anything you want to install.
Came with the barrel nut, handguard, screws and shims.
Installation is easy if you know what you’re doing.
I would recommend a gunsmith if you are not comfortable doing it yourself.
Milspec torque ratings are 30-80 ft lbs AGAIN! Check with a professional.
I did around 42 with the use of shims.
Pros:
- easy installation
- has alignment tabs for upper receiver
- M lok all over on 7 sides
- low price compared ro similar options.
- handguard is not clocked with barrel nut
- lightweight for 15 inches
Cons:
- No recommended torque setting
- barrel nut needs to be clocked within a few degrees of center
Best Used for:
- M Lok
- Light weight applications
- Free float
- modularity

I found out about this brand because the 9mm AR I bought last year had a 4 inch Stern Handguard. I replaced the 5 inch barrel with an 11 inch barrel and wanted a 10 inch handguard. Since I found nothing wrong with the existing Stern 4 inch handguard I purchased the 11 inch one. Keep in mind you will need to buy the wrench from Stern's website (which I didn't mind doing). I read some people had trouble with gas tubes but my application on a 9mm AR is blowback so this worked great for me. It is of high quality and not ridiculously expensive. I see other handguards made of the same material for double and triple the price. This works fine for me.

So im pretty happy it's the style i was looking for and function. Solid design and extra hold from sliding forward. Mostly the S on the side is my first initial i use on everything and this one's already id'd ,thanks Stern.
Ohhh yeah the stock adapters if you get one make sure you watch the video so the release button makes sense. Enjoy

For the money, it’s great! It’s built well enough to hold tight onto the upper and mount lights, grips etc. I wouldn’t trust it to hold zero with a laser, but otherwise good.

I ordered this because I needed an 8” handguard and they’re hard to find, this was the cheapest I could get and optics planet got it to me quick. My first impression was that the barrel nut was aluminum (which I’m not a fan of in rifle caliber) and there was no barrel wrench included for the very unique barrel nut. No barrel wrench and it’s definitely not standard meant that I had to use a pipe wrench which made it difficult to get the torque specs right. Additionally the stupid barrel nut has notches for your gas tube which means it must be timed WHICH I EFFING HATE! I had to use the included shims which I also hate but one shim wasn’t enough and two shims were too much so I had to play with the shims and probably ended up over torquing it in the end. The design of the nut just seems so dumb and over complicated to me. The handguard itself is alright, not a slim handguard and not overly lightweight, it’s usable and seems rugged enough not to bend or break. The anti-rotation tabs are nicely designed and will work with any upper receiver unlike some other brands. My only other complaint is that the handguard is has a bigger diameter than the upper, making a ridge between the two. This is the first time I’ve seen this. So in the end, it works but not my favorite. I’d say it’s ok for pistol caliber carbines and 22’s but it’s a PITA for anything that needs a gas tube.
Cons:
- barrel nut
- overcomplicated
- Fit against the uoper

Good value exactly what i wanted. I bought the 8” model for my 9” barrel. No instructions. No barrel nut wrench. On one of the handguard tension screws, the head stripped out with little to no toque. So i will have to pick up another at the store. Couldn’t find any videos online of install.

So I actually bought this to go with the left handed skeletonized upper. The threading is not comparable. Anyone know what to do? It is built excellent. Perfect craftsmanship. The metal is heavy. It can scratch easily. But it holds up 8ī
