I suppose this is designed to carry a couple of military assault rifles, but we are using it as a low-profile roof cargo box for a car. The common Thule/Yakima boxes use very thin plastic and are way too tall for the look we want on our Mini. We looked around for various things we could misuse, like truck bed boxes, and eventually settled on this. I drilled four holes (sorry) and attached it with two U bolts and four butterfly nuts. It doesn't have a vast amount of space, but it still looks cool while giving us some semi-secure out-of-sight storage. We bought the FieldPak so that we could pack up indoors and just drop it in when we drive away. We're thinking of getting another for the other side of the roof rack (disclaimer: I'll get 7% off for writing this review).

The holes for attaching padlocks look pretty vulnerable. I believe someone could just cut them with a decent pair of wire cutters or a coping saw. Maybe I'll glue in some metal washers as a deterrent.

Built like a tank! Great to put your valuable guns and gear in. I like it much better than the foam for using one case on multiple guns.

The fit is pretty tight once the soft case is full but it manages to latch. Never worry once its latched.

I use several Pelican Storm Cases and SKB cases with custom cut foam for alot of my weapon systems. Having one or two of these Pelican Cases with a FieldPak makes it easy to mix and match and go without losing the protection I get from my custom cases. Also being able to downgrade from a hard case to a soft case on the fly makes it easy to adjust to storage/transportation options and you don't have to drag all the extra weight to the range if you chose not to.
Pros: Very versatile case. Fits various weapon systems and keeps them protected en route.
Cons: A little pricey but you get what you pay for. If you invest alot in a weapon you'll invest it in the case.

Good protection for my AR-15 and optics, when traveling

This set up is fantastic especially if you travel to a lot of carbine classes and need to move your gear around securely but then have a more lightweight solution once you're at your destination. It really protects two rifles plus gear in the soft case, the outer case protects very well and locks down tight. Great for travel, except it is very heavy and clunky as well need a good size vehicle to transport it. Buy with confidence this product will hold up to just about anything you can expose it to.

This is the case featured on Magpul Dynamics Carbine number one video. It works very well and can hold 2 guns w scopes and two shotgun, or a combination somewhat like that. I highly recommend.
Pros: Can hold 2-3 full loaded guns and one stripped gun really nice quality
Cons: Could be a bit bigger to hold four fully loaded guns
