Stormlake drop-in barrel kit in a Colt
I wanted to improve the accuracy in a Colt Series 80 .45 acp without sending it to a gunsmith for extensive accuracy modifications. I looked for a drop-in barrel that would improve the accuracy without a lot of fitting. The measurements on the Stormlake barrel 34081 were a very close fit to the Colt and resulted in a snug lockup with a small hood width modification. At 25 yards, the accuracy has improved, groups are noticeably tighter. Optics Planet had the lowest price, free shipping, and it arrived really fast.
Great Replacement Barrel
I purchased this barrel to install in a Sig 1911 Tacops which wasn't getting the groups I was looking for. I was pleasantly surprised the barrel dropped in with no fitting required. The overall lockup is much tighter than the stock barrel and accuracy improved to sub 2" groups from a 50' bench rest with various brands of hollow point defensive ammunition. The stock barrel bushing needs a wrench to loosen it, however that is the only difference with this new barrel. I am very pleased overall with this purchase.

Drop in barrel for 1911-A1
This Stormlake SLK 1911 Government Barrel dropped in my Springfield Armory 1911-A1 as described. Fit is just like factory and looks really nice. Fitted with Wilson 17lb spring and fired in the range - still accurate as with factory barrel. Definitely recommend this barrel for a replacement or alternate use for 1911's. Very Nice!!
