I had a hand held version of rhisbyears ago that I loved, I just figured a headlamp version would be convenient. It does stick out a bit far for a head lamp but not enough to cause any issues or discomfort. The light functions very well and is my go to light for the field

I was concerned that because of the wavelength of the IR light that it would produce a visible glow. I’m pleased to say it produces only a very faint glow at 2 yards, and should be invisible at greater than 15 yards. Good choice for NV to light up the immediate area for walking, using helmet mounted equipment.

This is the coolest little maneuverable light. Easy to operate with multiple brightness settings. The switch on it works real good changing the light between IR, red, and white. It takes CR123 or AA batteries!! I was worried about it being too bulky and it is not. Optics planet shipped right away and had an excellent price!
Pros:
- Price
- Quality
- Compact Size
- Takes AA batteries

It has great features with the different style lights and is easy to use. It seems strong and will hold up to the abuse I'll put it through. It is a bit bulky when wearing it on the rail of my helmet. I feel that if they created one that had a rail mount attached to the body instead of an adapter it would slim it down. Over all it seems to be a great product for the price.

The Streamlight Sidewinder is just what I was looking for. It works on the rail on my Bump Helmet great. It is light weight doesn't stick out from the side of helmet very far. It seems very well made and has multiple variations. The different lights will work very good also
Pros:
- Lightweight, versatile, different light features
Cons:
- None yet but will let you know if there end up being any

I've bought 2 because they're so good. I love the ability to use different batteries (AA & AAA). I've used red lamp feature as well. It's a full featured light - use as headlamp or attach to helmet.
Highly recommended.
Pros:
- Ability to use different batteries
- Flexibility of light

This is the second Sidewinder2 I own now. They are great small lights that work great with Molle gear and easy to use. Personally I have the flashing feature with IR light as a beacon for NVG work. I would highly recommend this product to anyone. I get the most use out of it when I am hunting. Getting to and from the tree stand or the duck blind this product is brighter and more reliable than any other I have found. I have dropped it in water, mud, and oil and have had zero problems.
Cons:
- difficult to operate with gloves
Best Used for:
- hunting
- swat
- Handy house work

Excellent little light! I like everything about it. I already have two sidewinder compacts and a AA sidewinder; all sportsman models. Bought this one primarily to get the low output for the first mode. Glad I did! I have over 20 other lights including, 2 O light S10 one S20 one M20 Nitecore SRT3, SRT5, SRT7, Sunwayman D20A, and a number of others. Guess I like lights maybe? Also have an O light S15 on the way.

I purchased this flashlight to compare it with other models that provide a 'hands free' option in low light situations when I am providing emergency medical treatment to injured people. I like the versatility of the mounting options which allow for illumination to be directed in a variety of directions. This device is very well made and should handle the abuse encountered in the field well. The kit I purchased included the picatinny rail mount option which I wanted to provide maximum flexibility depending on the situation. As far as the light source the model I purchased has white, red, blue, and IR light options with four variable brightness settings from low to high which should be adequate for my needs. I will test the effectiveness of the IR mode when I can borrow a PVS-14 or similar NODS unit. The light selection control positively locks in position to prevent accidental illumination or loss of night vision by accidental white light operation.
Pros:
- light weight
- reasonable price
- Well constructed
- versatile light options
