Most Helpful Positive Review Great product although not wild about lack of a knob to tighten
Bought this as a 2nd unit for wife. We shoot in a rifle competition league 2x a month. These are tactical action shooting matches, and they run lights out stages from time to time. The TLR-1 HL puts out a great beam and judging from the first one I've had for a year and a half they are reliable. Ergonomics are fine on the controls too. I don't really care for the earless knob though, as compared to the knurled knob on my older unit. I can see the advantage of having less to snag, but it isn't anywhere near as quick to mount and take off as the older version with the real knob.

Prefer Over Surfire X300

I prefer these over Surefire because I think Surefire has diminishing returns after $150. Both are IPX7 and very durable. If the Surefire was IPX8 or the turbo model (which has a very tight beam) I would consider Surefire more often but for pistol distances and inside structure this is a very tough light to beat.

solid weapon light

I've had streamlights in the past, and the tlr 1 holds up. Strong light that's easy to manipulate and doesn't break the bank like half of surefires line-up. 10/10 would recommend.
