Good spare Ir light, usually keep in my bag with pvs14 as a hand me out to use for people without Ir light. Great for helmet mount as well, identical footprint to tlr1-s and tlr1-hl. Fits all my safariland holsters and works with Blackhawk omnivore. Whanna save money get this instead of the tlr vir, and just swap out before night shoots.

I am using a PVS-14 behind a Trijicon MRO for night hunting feral hogs and needed supplemental IR for darker nights. I own several Streamlights, so I naturally bought this. It works very well with the red dot sight because there is a dimmer area in the center that doesn't wash out the reticle. I can target well out to 200 yards and see what I need to see.

This unit is made just like the visible-spectrum TLRs, although with no markings other than an IR indication between the rail attachments. What bears mentioning is that a faint red glow is visible from the LED when looking at an angle, and the reflector is fully red when seen from straight on. That said, the output is impressive, so much so that usage inside a room will wash-out most details. 70-foot trees 30 yards away are illuminated brilliantly, and there is no shortage of output. The reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is because of the glow, which is visible. Were this farther towards the IR end, it would be better, but you can't beat the output at this price-point.

I purchased this to use with my Armisight Gen 2+ night vision. Sorry to say it seemed under powder for what I need. I own lots of Streamlights (green) and they work well. For some applicatoins this light might be prefect, but not for hunting.

the Streamlight TLR 1 is definitely powerful.I use it as a backup for my 810 armasight IR. The 810 has 4 power adjustments which is great for working around trees. If you just go to straight full power the reflection from the nearest trees will blind you.but once you reach full power on the 810, then you kick on the TLR. Oh boy! now you can reach out to those extreme distances.I don't really know what an extreme distance is for an IR light, but a couple hundred yards isn't a problem.the TLR 1 is definitely a great light.

Surpringly bright for such a small IR light. Can easily reach 250 yards. Perhaps, too bright for a short range operation. Wish it has low and high power setting. Highly recommended.
Pros: Small compact light with built-in mount, can easily reach 250 yards
Cons: Fixed power setting, battery polarity icon is missing for IR light

I couldn't believe how small this thing was when I took it out of the package. I was amazed again when I tried it out for the first time. Such a powerful IR illuminator from such a small device. The throw is tight and bright. I would definitely recommend this as a weapon or helmet mounted IR light for anyone who wants additional illumination with the NV devices.
Pros: bright, great throw, very small
Cons: no remote activation switch

This is an excellent weapon mounted light for full size weapons. Great quality, very durable, excellent warranty from Streamlight. Battery door is difficult to maneuver because it is very tight, but I suppose that is so it doesn't open during discharge of the weapon. If you are looking for a light for a compact weapon, I would look at the TLR-3. I am about to buy one for my Beretta Px4 compact.
Pros: Excellent quality, super bright, very durable
Cons: Battery door is difficult, too long for compact weapons
