Preston Sharp's Review of Streamlight TLR-VIR II Weapon Flashlight and IR Laser
This is my second vir ii. Optics planet always ships quick and I like the vip pricing for veterans. The first vir ii would not zero past 15 yds shot 12" low and the battery door was bending stressing enough it would whiten the metal where it was bending trying to unlock it. on my glock 19x the laser ran out of downward adjustment. I sent it back and requested another. The battery door is nice on this one. It still however is shooting low past 15 yds but not as bad from what I have researched it's because the glock rail mold is upward pignosed and is a common thing for the rails on glocks. So the laser projects higher and runs out of downward adjustment which would raise the shots if I could continue downward movement. I decided to keep it and deal with a 15 yd zero. I am having the glock cut for a rmr and I'll use the rmr to shoot accurate at 25 yards which is what I like my pistols zeroed at. The adjustment are not a click type. On zeroing this use your nvg pin hole cover cap and zero it with the laser with your front sight aiming down the sights. The pinhole cover on your nvgs will allow you to see sights.
Pros:
- Budget ir laser fits my tlr1 holster
Cons:
- Didn't zero past 15 yds shot low g19. Battery door can be a negative.
Best Used for:
- Night vision
