it closes fine, if installed properly
I almost did not buy this because of the reviews saying that it would not stay closed. But I took a chance anyway, because I wanted the silver color to match my build. Initially, I had installed this on a cheap PSA upper, and it would stay closed, but popped open rather easily. When I took a look, it wasn’t the dust cover that was the problem, it was the cheap upper. Luckily I had a nice aero precision upper that I had not used yet, so I swapped my uppers and installed this dust cover on the aero precision upper and it snaps closed nice and tight. In summary, if you’re planning on using this on a cheap upper, probably won’t do the trick, try it on something of good quality!

Bad fit, too tight.
Tried on two receivers. Wouldnt open and close smoothly in my M4E1 and wont hold closed in my odin billet. Not much better after trying to modify. Extra star since it looks good and easy to remove once you know itndoesnt fit.

great cover
Vastly better than the tin milspec covers, good fit easy to install, and the adjustable latch detent perfection. I saw a number of negative reviews (although few) and for the life of me I do not understand how this could be reviewed poorly. Future removal easy for thorough cleaning etc, so many advantages, great product!

SI Billet Dust Cover
Very easy to install and uninstall. It also has a ball bearing that you can adjust to fit tighter or looser, depending on your preference. It also looks the part as well. I would highly recommend.

This is a great dust cover, it’s very smooth and sleek. With an adjustable detent it makes closing and opening slightly easier.

If you need a dust cover these are awesome! Polymer NOT metal so sound of opening and closing during cycling a minimum, SO EASY to install NO teeny tiny clips NO frustrating springs or rolling the whole mechanism, and best part leave your upper together NO handguard or bolt removal and takes a minute comes with easy instructions and several styles of colors and texture and even small rubber bumpers that stick on to save the receiver when it slams open!
