Black flag does not fit ejection port - Strike Industries Enhanced Ultimate Dust Cover for AR

I was excited to install this cover on my PSA Dissipator upper. I lost the tiny clip that holds the milspec cover on, so I was committed to this cover working. I am a big fan of Strike Industries products. This was the first time they have let me down. When I installed the cover, it wouldn’t close. At first I assumed it was the detent, so I turned it all the way in. It still wouldn’t close. The rib at the bottom of the cover was binding on the ejection port opening. Luckily, I am a woodworker and have the tools and skills to modify a piece of plastic. Out came the chisels, and about 5 minutes later, the cover was operational. I had to completely remove the rib that is supposed to fit inside lower edge of the ejection port. I also had to run the detent out about 3 threads in order for it to get a good purchase on the top of the opening. It all operates fine now, but it’s seems like the mold for the flag design may be out of spec, as the milspec cover operated just fine. I still love the concept of this cover, and I plan on purchasing a black capsule model for another upper. It seems like half of the products I buy these days need to be modified to make them work properly, and unfortunately, this cover was no different. I still recommend it, because it may fit a different upper just fine.
