Great Buffer Spring
Does everything they claim it does. My only complaint is that the buffer doesn't seat as well as others but it operated perfectly in a 10" 458 SOCOM. Smooth, strong, quiet and seems pretty tough. Swapped out a couple different weighted buffers while i was at the range and it ran great.
A spring is a spring
I bought into the hype of all the 5 star reviews here. Recoil, sounds, all feels the same as the stock round wire spring. I wasted my money, but at least it wasn't too much. A buffer spring is a buffer spring when used in a naturally hard kicking .45 or 10 mm PCC, at least in my experience. What's more, a flat spring is slightly harder to remove and install because it gets caught on the retainer pin.
Pros:
- None
Cons:
- Overpriced spring
Would recommend: No
Twang Away
I was never really bothered by spring "twang", but that being said this spring removes the sound. Coupled with the hydraulic buffer in my 9MM PCC and follow up shots are faster on target. Flatter shooting and less "smack/pop" on the shoulder helps keep the red dot on target. Recommend this combo to anyone that wants to increase the "controllability" of their PCC.
Pros:
- flatter shooting, no twang
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- decreasing slap, muzzle rise on PCC

Strike Industries AR Pistol Flat Wire Spring
The Strike Industries AR Pistol Flat Wire Spring is a great upgrade for any AR pistol build. The flat wire design allows for a more reliable and consistent feeding process, improving overall firearm performance.
The construction of the spring is top-notch, as expected from Strike Industries. It is made from high-quality chrome silicon steel, which ensures durability and longevity. This means that the spring will not lose its tension over time, resulting in a consistent and reliable cycling of the firearm.
Installing the flat wire spring is quick and easy, thanks to its straightforward design. It is a drop-in replacement for the standard round wire spring, making it accessible for even those with minimal gunsmithing experience.
One of the significant advantages of the flat wire spring is its ability to reduce felt recoil. This is achieved by distributing the forces more evenly throughout the spring, resulting in a smoother recoil impulse. This reduced felt recoil makes shooting the AR pistol more comfortable and allows for quicker follow-up shots.
Another benefit of the flat wire design is the reduction in spring noise. The flat wire spring produces less noise than the traditional round wire spring, making for a more enjoyable shooting experience. This can be particularly useful when stealth and noise reduction are crucial.

It did what the description says it was supposed to do
If youre running some type of rapid fire trigger on your pistol, this spring will not only help your AR pistol run softer and smoother but also help mitigate bolt bounce (a common cause of light primer strikes.) It’s not just your buffer weight that helps stop bolt bounce but a resonant combination of buffer weight and spring. If youre one of the lucky few that has a full auto AR pistol, this will definitely be a nice upgrade since it’s tuned to run full auto. If you have a carbine, get the carbine length FWS. You’ll need the extra tension to counter the higher gas flow.
