David S.'s Review of Strike Industries Rail AR-15 M-Lok Handguard Rail
I have the 2021 version, which came with the mil-spec barrel nut, and it fit and timed easily. This 2026 barrel nut, however, will not engage the barrel shoulder with fewer than six shims.
For this handguard, the barrel nut requires nine shims, and you will have to over-torque it to 65 ft-lbs to achieve proper timing. Alternatively, you can use seven shims and under-torque it to 20 ft-lbs. No combination of shims will allow the barrel nut to time correctly within the manufacturer's recommended torque range of 30–50 ft-lbs for this aluminum barrel nut.
You can try getting help through Strike Industries' Blame The Customer System, but in my experience, any failure or defective part is blamed on the customer, either for breaking it or installing it incorrectly. You will not get any support from Strike Industries.
